Stella's Condo

Hello!

Thanks to those that stopped by hoping Stella's urine sample comes out well. Still no word from the vet as of today...but I will let you know as soon as I know!

Stella woke up this morning and decided to go back to her regular routine. She was wandering around the house this early am once again meowing at things my eye could not see. Everything is in its place. I have noticed since using the Innova Prime dry food (I know, I should not use dry but with my job I have to keep some out) Stella has much less poop and her BGs are much easier to manage. I have also noticed a great improvement in my other kitty Boo and Stella in regards to increased activity and a wonderful fur coat!

I will try to visit some condos today...my new schedule is keeping me extra busy and on the move!

With that fast drop, I'd suggest giving Stella some LC an re-testing at +4.

Is it possible to set a timed feeder with canned foodv vs. leaving dry for the kitties?

Re: 3/16 Stella AMPS/205 3.5/61

Hey Sienne. I am on it. Unfortunately, as I have expressed in the last two years in dealing with Stella's diabetes, I am forced to leave out dry food because of my work. I have done my best to try to find the best of the worst of the evils - 'dry food' - and this one seems to work well for both of my family furballs. No throwing up, no constipation, and it is keeping Stella's BGs lower than other 'dry evils'. ;-) I wish it could be otherwise, I kick myself daily knowing if my work and life allowed it, Stella would probably be in the falls. I have done my best with this lovely one, and we recovered her Neuropathy the first year...so that is the comfort we live with. I will be posting her curve. The vet wants an updated one, and this is the first day I have had off in a while.

I don't "know" you very well and it was sweet of you to stop by my "house"! From the look of Stella's SS, you are doing a great job managing her FD! Please don't kick yourself about the dry; we do what we can and we do the best we can do! Stella may, or may not, have been in the Falls. And I'm thrilled to hear you recovered her Neuropathy :-D Your work, your life and your sugar-cat are probably the three most important aspects of your life and you are doing so beautifully. Pretty green pasture this morning, Miss Stella  Enjoy your day off and take some time for Mary!

Why thank you so much TheBowHuntress! I appreciate your kind words and support. :-D Thank you for the acknowledgement of my hard work in keeping Stella here on this earth. Allthough I am a grown woman, two years ago my parents had told me to put Stella 'to sleep'. Then I found this board and Stella's will and my ability to proceed into the unknown has kept us a family. Thanks again. It is so nice to have a cheerleader on my side! PS. Both of my parents see me in a completely different way after fighting the 'impossible' and Stella overcoming her neuropathy!

There Stella goes...on a slow trek back up in her BGs. Looks like her green surf lasted for most of the curve!

Mary --

Sorry if I didn't remember the details. I just hate the dry stuff so I always look to find a workable way around anyone using it. If it's your best option, then that's what you've got to do. If today's numbers are any indication, Stella's looking good.

Re: 3/16 Stella AMPS/205 3.5/61 4/62 5/64 6/96

Thanks Sienne! Yes, Stella has a way of really keeping herself in the green despite my schedule's pitfalls and the shortcuts we have had to make to adjust to it all. Stella has definitely shown to be an exception. As we know... ECID (every cat is different)! Lucky me!!!

Nice numbers today. Green is Good!

I , too, dislike the dry stuff but.... if you are going to use it.... I'd look into this one.

It seems to be the best one for a diabetic cat. I know 2 cats that have gone into remission on it. ( i can show you one of the ss's)
It seems to really be zero carb. And they really eat less so it's probably the same cost in the long run.
I bought some for my outdoor cat who adopted us.... since I'm not going to follow him around with canned food but luckily he will eat both so he gets both.

You are doing a great job!

Hi, Mary, Stella's looking good!

My parents were the same way ~ well, my dad still thinks it's Ripley's "time" and that I'm postponing the inevitable; but my mom has seen the dramatic positive difference in Ripley's health first hand, and she's now one of by biggest cheerleaders.

Sending vines for good test results for Stella!

Very nice curve. I bet you're happy :-D

Stella deserves a  next to her Subject Line. Yay Stella!

Wow! Thanks so much everybody! You are all such wonderful cheerleaders!!! Your posts made me so HAPPY I giggled!

rhiannon and shadow thank you for the link to the zero carb catfood! I will take a look asap! As long as Stella and Boo can hold it down, and it doesn't cause any 'side effects' it seems to be great!

Take care everyone, and have a wonderful evening!
