My new indian name is "Grasps at straws" :-D

Shadow's left side was half full but very tender.... Vet put ointment on it too. She thought maybe it was feeling pretty bruised from last friday when they
were both full. Shadow cried a lot and chewed on my face... ( she can't hurt me with her tiny teeth and it makes her feel better- share the pain, share the love_)

The cyst on her chin also popped for the vet so she was able to squeeze some of the gunk out of it.

Then we talked about the dental surgery.
No way to know until they do the x-ray if there is any of her lesion activity happening so will definitely proceed with getting her dental on march 26.

Oh, poor Shadow, I'm so sorry that hurt. It hurts your bean just as much to see you in pain :YMSIGH: I hope the ointment helps. Sorry about the nail biting worry, my dental took almost two weeks to wait for an appointment too and I hope it goes by fast for you. Maybe they will have a cancellation and fit you in earlier, paws crossed. Sending healing and no worry vines :-D

Sending good post vetty vines to Miss Shadow and hoping that everything the vet did for her helps bring down those numbers. Poor Shadow, and poor you! But what a good Mamabean you are to let her chew on your face. ;-)

I'm sorry Shadow still has to have the dental. Hopefully the time will go by quickly until the 26th. Sending prayers that the cyst treatment and anal gland ointment will help Shadow feel better and help her BGs come down.

Hi Rhiannon - I am sorry I did not know Shadow was having a few problems. I hope all will be well with her. I take it she has full anal glands? or did? Mt civvie Elsa deals with this too, and I have to take her in every three months or so and have them expressed. Not fun, but better than not. I hope teh cyst heals well too. Poor Shadow! and now a dental. I send great dental vines! We all worry do when they have them done... I am sure all will go well, right Shadow?

shadow had full glands last friday March 8 and they were expressed ... her chin cyst was big and too deep to get to.

today....shadow had one filling back up ( but not full) and the other one was okay...
I think it was bothering her .... not enough to drag her butt on the ground but just general annoyance...
but it really hurt ( according to her yowling and biting me) to have them pushed on so I have to think they aren't feeling good. ( i'm inexperienced with
anal gland problems)
and the vet was able to squeeze the cyst today so hopefully it will start going away.

so... don't know how long the anal glands would impact her bg...
still guessing that maybe her teeth are starting to erode some (it's been a year since she had her fangs pulled)
She has feline odontoclastic resorptive lesions ( FORL) ... so eventually all her teeth will crack and erode... and have to be pulled.

I will probably be needier or as needy as Sam as we get close to March 26.
I't not so much the dental happening.... it's the lead up until she's out.
but I'll whimper and whine about it when it gets closer.

The dental is what we are waiting for to see whether or not to start up a little insulin.
I was about to have to start since Shadow was starting to really waffle on her good numbers but was advised it would be okay to wait and see if the dental
makes a difference... as long as she doesn't get to 200 ....

Zener is sending mega sympathy vines to Shadow and we are sending big hugs to you, Rhiannon. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: Zener has the same issue with anal glands and had a dental yesterday. One of the nurses said to do a warm compress for 5 minutes on his butt, once or twice a week. Vines for the dental and that it helps on the BGs. It often does.

Awww I'm sorry that Shadow has owies. I'm sorry for you too, Rhiannon..it hurts to see our babies hurting.

Hi Rhiannon - thanks for the update/recap of what has been going on with Shadow. Mannie and I send many many healing vines for Shadow. I will hope too that he dental solves the rise in the BG's. Thinking of you both!

Poor Shadow and poor mom, too! I hope she feels better soon and the dental work helps bring her BG back down.

Hi Rhiannon,

Sorry for getting your condo's confused. It was awful to give you happy vet wishes when you've already had a traumatic experience. Hugs to both of you. It's so distressing to see them in pain. I'm sending bum vines, dental vines, and no-pain vines to Shadow and relaxation vines to you. I hope her bg numbers come down again after her dental.
