Eeyore is really adapting, and the household is settling down somewhat from his entry. He continues to show all signs of clinical diabetes (excessive thirst, hunger, peeing, and high sugars), and he is definitely not used to testing or shots. He will come to see them as "normal", and is not aggressive about them, but he is squirmy and sometimes flops over on his side. LOL.

I caught him playing (playing!!!) with a stuffed mouse, and with the kitty racer thing last night. He didn't play for long, but he was indeed playing.

Hope you all have great days!

Michele I read the story on how you came to save Eeyore. What a very sad story but a wonderful new beginning for Eeyore thanks to you.
It sounds like he is getting comfortable and it is so nice to hear that he is starting to play.

Re: 3/16: Eeyore PMPS+10=407

That playing sounds as if he is getting used to being out of the closet and is adjusting to things in your home Michele!
You are a life saver indeed! I am hoping for his continued adjustment especially to the testing. they all seem to get used to it soon enough, no? You are doing a great job!!! Bless you!!

Not only did he play last night...he snuck up into my lap about 30 minutes ago, and he hung out there...and then, when I brushed him, he groomed me...and purrrrrrrrrred! Made me grin, that did!

Pat, he will adjust to testing and shots...it will take some time, I'm sure, but he's not bad at all now; in time and with practice, he will come to relax during it, and not be quite as squirmy.

Re: 3/16: Eeyore PMPS+10=407

Reading about Eeyore playing and purring brings tears to my eyes. So happy he's finally found a good forever home. Rescues are just extra special. Hope he starts responding to the insulin soon.

What a sweet little guy. I do think he understands that he is loved (already!) and safe and has a great crew of adopted siblings. Happy endings are a good thing!!

(Can you please open the SS we we can access it?)

Hi Michele and Eeyore (and all other cats and animals in your household). Eeyore's story is an inspiration. He sounds as if he loves everything about his new home (and if he doesn't love the testing and shooting, at least he is willing to accommodate). Here's to a really good day for this lovely little guy.

He sure has a lot of things to adjust to. I'm glad to hear its going in the right direction.

Awww, happy to hear he is playing and jumped in your lap for some mutual grooming

Patricia, there is a lot here to adjust to...lots of fuzzbutts, me disappearing for hours on end, a totally different environment, different food, testing/shooting...so very much to adjust to. And he - and the others - are doing so well...most of them are now eating in the kitchen together, without even a look at the others. It's less a testament to me, and far more a testament to Eeyore, that this has gone well and quickly...

And he's responding to treatment, too. He was 332 tonight - so pleased to see the low 300s...so pleased. Maybe the dry food has cleared the system? Still only shooting 1.25, too.

I'll try to get the ss open again...not sure what i'm doing wrong...let me work on it.

Michele

ETA: Try the ss now...maybe it will work now.

It is so encouraging to hear the Eeyore is responding well to the diet change and the lantus. And he really moved into your household with such little fuss. That is just terrific. I can't wait to see some photos as he gets to a healthier body weight guided by your loving hands.

I have some vid, but I haven't uploaded it yet...

CD, he's the lowest PMPS he's been since he's been here, and...there is only one lower number, and that was a +2. And yes, everyone's adjusted really well...mostly back to normal last night; Malachi sucking my earlobe, Ollie on the pillow next to me, Esse at my feet, Simon at my side...and Eeyore, squooshed up and sleeping around my knee (and no, I don't turn a lot when I sleep...). When I woke to that (before the earthquake), I was just ever so tickled. Eeyore must've been having conferences with everyone, reassuring them that there is enough of me to go around, and that everyone can be friends...only Abby is still miffed, but she always is. She's the Miff Queen...

Michele
