Well, I don't know where that PS came from. I'm worried I'm going to get caught in this cycle of having to give R. That concern may be premature, but it is there.

All P's are in place this morning. Appetite is good. Hoping he comes down throughout the day.

Happy Sunday all!

I'm glad that all Ps are in place, and his appetite is good. I hope that his #s come down for you with the R. Try and have a good day, and hang in there. :YMHUG:

Good morning Suzanne ~O)

Cobb, please just let this be a blip. You're doing so well. Down, down down please

Looks like the R brought Cobb down about 100...let's see how the Lantus works with that number. :?

C'mon Cobb, come back down.
Mary Grace wants to play with you on the blue floor today.
Good morning Suzanne, hope you have a good Sunday.

I'm so sorry you're having to juggle R and L, Suzanne. I hope Cobb's liver and pancreas get in the groove so you don't have to use R anymore (or L for that matter)!

looks like he's coming down nicely now. i like the 268 a lot better than 400's!!

i think Cobb is still bouncing - the R is a great choice to help control numbers when that happens, so i wouldn't worry too much about having to use it at this stage.

you asked earlier about carbs - i gave punkin boiled chicken if i wanted to give him something in the second half of the cycle where it wouldn't drive up his numbers. other than that, i'm not sure there's a good "role" for zero carb foods. I know there are some folks that use it, but i don't have experience with it. I know we've had cats who were able to get flatter numbers by feeding food with carbs after trying zero carbs first.

Dr. Lisa's site (the catinfo.org one) points out that a cat's natural prey is a mouse or a bird, and they would contain a few grains in their stomachs. so the natural carb count a cat would eat outside is around 7%. that makes sense to me. I gave punkin food that was 4-5% for his regular meals.

OHMYGOSH - i had to just edit that. i'd written "i gave punkin boiled punkin . . . "

Sorry Julie I just laughed so hard at your pre edit.

Haha No boiled Punkin!!

I've tried boiled chicken as well. It doesn't seem to tide him over very long. But I'm still working on it. Sometimes he sleeps the first hlaf of the day cycle (cats...must be nice to nap that long). And then he's hungry on the back half.

Given tonight's PS, I agree he was still bouncing this morning. He had been clearing those bounces more quickly previously. I wonder what changed...

Much nicer start tonight than this morning. Neko always historically got a meal at what is now her AM+9, so she gets a very small snack there now. I try to do mostly zero carb fuds. I have a selection of freeze dried meat treats and even some chicken gizzard pieces. Just a tsp or two is enough for her to tide her over until the main dinner meal.

I hope Matty is sleeping in his own bed again.
