Good Morning LL
Checks eating is so frustrating. There's only one flavor of Fancy Feast that he loves.....most of the time, but it's totally fish. Everything else has to be doctored with chicken dust, or Fortiflora. Even then, he'll often just walk away.
I had more to say, but I'm tired of hearing myself complain about the same thing, over and over. :YMSIGH:
He just honored me at +3, by eating his FF, with tuna juice over it.

I need to look up the stuff other cats love, and try, waste, the other brands again :roll:

One has to love finicky eaters... not! sorry barb. :YMSIGH: I was trying to think of what I read about the most, food wise. I suppose you've tried so many of them... Mannie's really likes the Merrick line - but they too do have alot of fish, even in their blends. They do have a BG line that is supposed to be the main protein component - chicken, beef, etc. Mannie likes the wellness too: chicken and the turkey. Well, don't know if that helps you nay... Good luck. Hooray for tuna juice! It really sounds like Checkers is a fish eater.

Special Kitty Turkey and Giblet 99% of the time here. Picky Picky Picky. Anything more than .50 a can he will not eat more than once if that.

It's too foggy today, but hoping to get out tomorrow. I'll buy a few cans of whatever I find kitties on here, eating. I can always buy more......oh wait, he like things ONCE!

He did love the pot roasted beef yesterday, but it's not complete nutrition, so that's just a treat today.
Yesterday I gave a lot, because it was something new, and I was getting kick out of his begging for it. :-D

good morning! nice greens here!

Binks is a Friskies guy...but of all the other foods i tried...
he really liked the wellness chicken, wellness turkey, and the evo duck flavor
(sorry David Quackerfield, and yes...i admit...i hid the duck flavors the day David came in to explore the house :lol: )

Of course...fishy flavors don't thrill Beanie...that'd be too easy.

hope the sun comes out at our place!

Hmm, whether I feed him or not; LC, or MC, he still won't surf green, for more than 3 hours.

Hi Barb, If Checks liked the roast beef, he might like Merrick Cowboy Cookout (5% carb), which is mostly beef. Rusty loves the Wellness turkey (4%), but is indifferent to the chicken. He doesn't much care for fish of any sort, even the freeze dried salmon pieces.

You had a nice run of green today. Thanks for the b'day wishes!

Hi Barb. I can appreciate how frustrating having a picky eater can be. Tori has taken it to a whole new level poor baby. Mind you before this she wasn't a picky eater. SHe had her favourites but would always cooperate.
I hope Checkers cooperates a bit more for you. Great numbers today.

Thanks for the food tips Ella. Checks loves *real* turkey, and cooked chicken...just not cat food. :lol:
I'm going to look for the Wellness. I already know 'my' farm store doesn't carry the cowboy cookout, or Granny's Pot Pie.

I had forgotten....and I have it hanging on the fridge.....that it's normal for numbers to start to rise at +8.
I just see other cats, staying low all day, and think there must be a trick to it, that I'm missing.

Aw, dealing with a picky cat must be so difficult. My Billy boy eats Friskies, but it's the canadian cans and he'd eat anything anyway.
His sister used to be so picky about everything but her tooth paste that I ended up putting a little paste on her dry food, but I see you've already tried the trick with tuna juice. I hope Checkers decides to pick a brand and stick with it! Good luck!

Oh I so know what you mean!!! My 2 have been on FF their whole lives, and now, if I am lucky, they eat some to more of it, some days like today--Not Much!!!
Bang my head against the wall trying to feed them!!
Copper could LIve on chicken & turkey alone & no cat food--so I stick the real chicken into the food & at least he gets some cat food--

Nice cycle for Chex today!!

Am so thankful Willie isn't picky. He likes beef foods, but they don't like him! He's been less than enthusiastic about raw lately, so I've been letting him have Wellness Chicken or Merrick BG Chicken & Quail, both of which he loves.

But lord, open a can of friskies... he will take you out to get to it!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Someone suggested sprinkling parmasan cheese onto food to me when Simba was at a low number and wouldn't eat. It worked like a charm! ... for a little while at least, and it was just enough!

Sometimes if I squirt just a little bit of food mixed with water in his mouth with a syringe, he gets the taste and decides he likes it after all and has a little gnosh on his own.

Good lucky with your picky eater - such a pain!

Our civvie, Jasper, is a picky eater. Both he and Felix have only been on wet food 2 months (dry lifer's til then) and it's now like a whole new world opened up! We feed Friskies, and add in Wellness Turkey when it's on sale (almost never!) When Jasper gets finicky, we grind up Walmart's Waggin Train into fine shreds/dust, sprinkle on top, stick his food into the micro for a few seconds and his stomach tells his up-turned nose to get over himself!! :-D Usually works every time! Felix will beg and mew until you've given him his fair share of the dust. Just what a Hoover like him needs...MORE DUST! HA!

Ain't that the truth, Celi. I'm astonished at how many cats on here, are finicky eaters. I read about the ones who will eat anything....or take yu out to get to Friskies :lol: and I have to pay mine to eat cat food.

I'm thinking there really is something to the FF Turkey theory.
I gave it to Checkers at +2 to try to keep him from dropping too fast, which he usually does.
Came down nicely at +3. :smile:
Will set timer for +5 now, although he just ate LC.
