Good Morning from Snow Country,

It's still snowing. We have about 3 feet of snow and another 1-5 inches expected before it ends later today. Our plower was here earlier and said he'd been out plowing since 11 A.M. yesterday! Edward and I are waiting for it to stop snowing before we shovel out our walkway, which is one huge snowdrift. Fortunately I filled the birdfeeders the other day, so the chickadees are able to get their sunflower seeds. But I worry about a robin that I saw the other day. I think the deer family is still in our back woods: at least I don't see any deer trails. Needless to say, our snowshoe hike to Avalanche Pass in the High Peaks was postponed! The snow there must be waist-high, at least.

Rusty is in his perch over the radiator watching the snow fall. He had a good night and ate some of his fuds.

Here are a couple of pics of our backyard.

Everyone have a great day!

Geez....

I hope you got dug out. I saw a great video of a NFC playing catch with snowballs. Do you think Rusty would be up for it?
I think Rusty is happy just sitting in his perch over the radiator and keeping watch on the "south" lawn.

Good morning. Lovely pics. I didn't get my feeders filled. Once I get my doors unblocked I will throw some seed out for them. I think I'll be in the house though until spring thaw
Your place looks just like ours, but we don't have outside steps going down the side of the house. Less to shovel!

I underestimated the amount of snow: it is over my waist in the places where it didn't drift, and higher than that in the drifts. We just finished shoveling out the walkway and a path to the birdfeeders. It's only +10 degrees and felt cold even though we were working. Now we're warming up.

I want the snow.....
I wish I could send it to you!

I think I will join Rusty on his perch. I just finished the stairs to lower deck. Only did a shovel wide path to the 2 steps to upper deck. When I stood on upper deck the snow was over my waist. That is not a drift. Then just shoveled enough to get door open. AND it's still snowing!!!! News said it would stop by now. They underestimated the storm it this time.

Still snowing off and on here, too. We're going out for a walk. Rusty might share his perch with you, but right now you could have the whole thing: he's asleep in one of his beds, next to the radiator.

Sounds like a perfect way to enjoy the beautiful falling snow. Smart kitty!

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I do love snow. Of course, I haven't lived where it really snowed since I was in the third grade, so I'd probably like it a lot less if I had to shovel it or drive in it!

You and Edward be careful out there shovelling, Ella. No tweaked backs or shoulders, please.

Love the photos, deja vu to the 1978 Blizzard. Most of all, glad you all are faring ok through the ongoing snowfall.

We fared better here in Southeastern Connecticut than the forecasters predicted (snowfall being anywhere from 5-24" for yesterday). A full force nor'easter here yesterday morning that changed to sleet, then rain that melted much of the snowfall, then freeze. I'd go for the light and fluffy stuff any day!

Wow! Lots of snow over there while us southern californians are enjoying sunny 80 degree weather. I feel guilty! The snow looks gorgeous but I can only imagine the pain of trying to dig yourselves out! Stay safe and warm while you enjoy that beautiful backdrop. I used to live in Lake Tahoe as a kid and loved when it snowed!

Nice cycle Rusty!

Beautiful pictures! We only got about 10 inches or so, hard to tell as there was lots of blowing and drifting.

I feel like a real schmuck, I forgot to fill my bird feeders the day before the storm :banghead: thought of it today and still forgot:banghead: Tomorrow, Scarlet .
