Good morning, LL! ~O)
Ripley is doing well :-D .
She is slupring up her breffis as I type.

OT: Today is our Green Eggs and Ham Party in my classroom ~ it's our way of celebrating St. Patrick's Day (the idea of a sneaky leprechaun is a little freaky for some young ones, so we switched gears several years ago, and it's been a success!). I need to get scrambling! Enjoy your day, all! TGIF!

Re: 3/15 Ripley AMPS 165

Morning Josie ~O) ~O) ~O)

What a nice amps for Ripley! Yesterday was very nice too - lots of greens. :-D

Love the idea of a green eggs and ham day - that is really fun. Enjoy!

Re: 3/15 Ripley AMPS 165

Hi Josie,
I'm glad Ripley is enjoying her breffifs! Mags just had her second breffifs! They could be related, as we were discussing yesterday.
Oh how cute on the Green Eggs and Ham Party! How old are the children? Have a great day. Is St. Patrick's today?

Re: 3/15 Ripley AMPS 165

Hi, Michelle, maybe Ripley is getting ready for St. Pat's Dat by showing all those greens lately  .

Hi, Ann, I have 24 3-5 yr olds (preschool & kindergarten). It's the best job ever. They keep me laughing and fill me up with so much love and joy. I think St. Pat's Day is Sunday (outside of my classroom I don't really partake in green festivities ~ though I may go to the store later and buy a can of Guinness, just in case ;-) ).

Re: 3/15 Ripley AMPS 165

Nice start for Ripley today. I'm glad she's doing well. That's a great idea to have a green eggs and ham party for St. Patrick's day. I can see how a leprechaun might scare young children.

Re: 3/15 Ripley AMPS 165, +2 199

Hi, Carla, thanks for the visit. I just finished cooking the green scrambled eggs ~ they do not look appetizing at all. The kiddos are going to love them!

Ripley's going the wrong way (still 'officially' blue, though). Maybe a little bounce from her lower greens the other night.

Re: 3/15 Ripley AMPS 165, +2 199

Hi guys,
Ripley had some impressive greens the other day, so she can have her little bounce (as long as it doesn't last long).

Green scrambled eggs. Hope the kiddies like them!

Enjoy your party!

Ella & Rusty

Re: 3/15 Ripley AMPS 165, +2 199

Nice start for Ripley! That's probably just a little old fuds spike there.

SOoo...the kids are afraid of leprechauns but not green eggs and ham? I don't know why, that just made me giggle  ! Have a great one!

Re: 3/15 Ripley AMPS 165, +2 199

Loving the green green cycles ! Hope you enjoy the party and the green eggs !

Hi, Ella, it was a little tiny bounce. And the kiddos loved the green eggs ~ well, most of them. Several wouldn't touch 'em. But I don't blame them  .

Hi, Amy, yeah I think the idea of a little guy coming into the classroom and "messing up" stuff made some kiddos feel insecure; it was all in fun, but one year a student of mine had a nightmare about the leprechaun, so that's when I shifted to celebrating Dr. Seuss instead. The those green eggs do look rather scary if you ask me  .

Hi, Aseel, thank you for the visit. I know you have a lot going on right now. We are loving the green cycles, too!

Well, Ripley looks like she's having a later-than-normal nadir. I wonder when she'll start rising (hopefully in time for her dose tonight). If not, I'll practice my "shoot low to stay low" bravery. nailbite_smile

Earlier she was outside and had noticed something (an insect?) crawl under a large flower pot; Ripley, my non-huntress kitty spent about an hour trying to get the little creature, unsuccessfully of course. It was fun watching her be engaged with something for so long; her eyes were dilated, her tail twitching the whole time. Then she came inside and took a nap. She must've been exhausted  .

Nice green surf today.

Green eggs do sound a bit scary.

What fun to stalk a bug and not get it ( since sometimes they give owies) . Just as good as playtime.

She's coming up. Of course I was worried about nothing. That's not surprising  .

Hi, Rhiannon, I thought about the owie potential while Ripley was blindly pawing under the flower pot ~ what if it was a snake? Or a rabid mouse? Or a black widow? But then I remembered Ripley's lifetime success rate of capturing prey of any kind (uh, zero), and figured the little thing was pretty safe.

It's funny because her sister Lucy (GA) was the primo huntress of any cat I've ever known ~ daily presents on my doorstep ~ and Ripley used to find Lucy's kill, then hold it in her mouth and meow that deep "look, Ma, I've caught something for you" meow; we would praise Ripley, but we always knew there was NO WAY she stalked and caught the lizard/mouse/bird/cricket. . Poor Ripley. We've spent so much of her life feeling kinda sorry for her, and that hasn't changed with her various ailments. She's always been our Extra Special Girl.

Freaky for not so young ones too

Nice numbers Ripley girl. That story about Ripley picking up the "presents' and meowing like she caught them, was great :-D :-D :-D Ruben Does that with balled up socks. He grabs from the draw (that he opens) then walks around the house with his lil mouth as wide as it will go to accomodate the big ball of socks and meow non stop until I say what a good job he did. Oh I freaking love him!!!!

Hi, Sam, too cute with Ruben and the socks! Good thing they're easy to catch & don't put up much of a fight  . I recently read about a theory for why cats bring home 'presents;' it's not necessarily gifts for us, it's more like they feel sorry for us humans because of the terrible fuds we eat, and they want to take care of us. Apparently Ruben knows you're a vegetarian  .

Hi Josie! Lovely day for Ripley    Those greenie faces go really well with green eggs and ham!

Omg, this just made me laugh hard    Still laughing, thank you for that.

3/15 Ripley PMPS 101

Hi, Courtney, I love that Ripley is celebrating Green Eggs and Ham Day with me  . Hopefully she'll keep it up for St. Pat's weekend... I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I hope your body fights it off!

Hi, Sam, . I'm glad you're still in touch with us insulin-givers. Once a LL-er, always a LL-er. :-D .

I went out back to look for Ripley for her PMPS, and she wasn't in any of her usual basking spots. Then I heard a familiar squawk (Ripley's 'meow') and found her lying in a leaf pile. Crazy girl. Goin' all camo on me. I had to dust off a bunch of debris before letting her back into the house.

Re: 3/15 Ripley PMPS 101

I love the huntress stories! I can just see her twitching her tail with wide open eyes - I love that look in cats stalking, even if it's just preparing to bounce on a catnip filled toy. :-D

Green eggs and ham. Ick. But I can see that kids would love the idea of different colored food! (And good call on the Guinness :-))

Hi Josie. Nice to see Miss Ripley having such a great evening following a great day cycle. Hopefully she's going to surf the Lagoon tonight.

Have a great evening.

Not only is Ripleys SS looking so great, it makes me so happy for you that she feels so great and is outside hunting...or her version of it

I love to look at her photo on the profile...the one where she's lying in the rocks by the planter in the sun. She is gorgeous!

Green eggs and ham? Ick! You are such a great teacher.

Lovely numbers for Ripley - she must be feeling great!

Honey used to be a great humming bird catcher  They are so territorial that a bird will try to attack the cat if it goes near their flowers - of course, the cat wins.
We put bells on their collars to stop that.
Minkie catches things including socks (and DH's underpants  ) - he always lets me take any bird from him - rescued quite a few.
All Monster manages are lizards which must take yuk as we seem to have lots of tailess ones scuttling around :-D
