Zener is doing fine this morning. I really expected the pink or even red floor so was pleasantly surprised to see those yellows. Is Mr. Liver actually chillaxing a bit? { { { anti-jinx } } } That cerenia definitely gave a boost to his appetite. I got up at about +7 last night to use the LB and he was wanting some food. That never happens. Usually, I have to show him the food in the automatic feeder (available from +7.5 to +10). We have two more cerenia injections so we have to decide whether to give one or both to him.

OT: I went for a bike ride yesterday. It was fabulous! It was nearly 60 F and mostly calm. The forecast is for a foot of snow on Sunday as everyone comes back from spring break. We surely need the precipitation.

Thinking of Rosalie as she mourns Morgaine's passing; Rupert, Pip and DH - sending good dental vines to Rupert and calming vines to the beans; Tinkerbell and Desi as Tink bounces from the 40s from last night; and others who are ailing. Happy Wednesday LL!

Way to bounce easy Zener! Cerenia must be a miracle drug. I love that he had the midnight munchies! I'm glad the precipitation is coming, after spring break. Good timing.

Hi guys .. Well I'm really happy to hear that zener's appy is back .. but my only question is, how does zener feel about you using his LB?  have a great day!

Looks like flat yellows this cycle so far.

@Devon & Celi - BWAAAHHHAAAAAA! :lol:

@Linda - it sure seems impossible we may have a foot of snow in a few days, it is almost 60F today! Kitties have enjoyed some backyard time this morning. :-D

Appy is slowing so we are about to give the 2nd of 3 injections of cerenia. Of course, he could just be full from all of his eating last night. :?

Re: 3/14 Zener AMPS 297;+1 244;+2 232;+4 267

I wouldn't call tht a bad bounce at all. The cerenia certainly did help Tess. And since the abs finished her appy has never been better! :-D I don't know if it would still be having an affect a week after the shot. Are you giving the shots yourself?

Re: 3/14 Zener AMPS 297;+1 244;+2 232;+4 267

Leave it to Celi with the pic and Devon picked up on it!  That's great about the cerenia and Zener's appy. He sounds much better, and look at those flat yellows. It might mean a mission. We only have 62 degrees here today, and it feels cold for me but still pleasant. Nice with the bike ride. Have a wonderful day, Liz.

Re: 3/14 Zener AMPS 297;+1 244;+2 232;+4 267

I'm sure happy to hear that the Cerenia is doing the trick and Zener is eating. Not a bad yellow surf today. Loved Celi's picture!

It was 80 degrees here today and sunny. I have brought out my sandals (too bad my feet still look like winter feet!).

Looks like a flat, very yellow cycle this AM - beats stinkus pinkus!

@Devon - Celi is the master of perfect picture finding!

@Ann & Tess - if this is indeed a bounce, sunny yellows sure beat those other "unmentionable" colors! Liz gave his cerenia shot today. The first time Zener was on Cerenia for the 5 day period, Liz gave them and I was in Germany. She did so good! Yesterday, the vet assistant gave the first one and sent us home with two syringes to do at home. We have met their injection seal of approval. ;-) We're not sure how long the cerenia lasts. We have it for 3 days this time.

@Ann & Maggie - ah, that's right...flat yellow may mean an upcoming mission. We are prepared to fatten things up if need be, since we dropped the full 0.25 last time. Time will tell what will happen at this dose. We are enjoying low 60s today and tomorrow and preparing for a foot or more at the end of the weekend, just in time for all the spring breakers driving back to school. :o

It was warm enough this afternoon to leave our backdoor open for the kitties to saunter in and out at will. Right before test, feed and shoot time, Zener came inside with his tail all puffed out. Liz ran out to check and there was a kitty in the yard. She chased the kitty back over the fence and noticed it was the cat that walked through the yard limping last week. Looked good as new today. Thank goodness Zener did not get in fighting mood.

Hope everyone has a Wednesday evening full of beautiful colors in LL!

Re: 3/14 Zener PMPS 269;+1 316

The flat yellows are busted - food spike perhaps? :?
PMPS 269, 5th cycle @1.75u, 1/4oz 8%, 1/16t miralax, 1/2PP & 1/8 zantac

+1.5, 0.5oz 8%

Lumberjack appy not present today, though he is asking for food regularly. He ate so much last night, he may be "caught up". Second cerenia injection today and one more tomorrow. Paws crossed his numbers respond in the right direction. If not, will fatten up the dose in a couple of cycles.

Re: 3/14 Zener PMPS 269;+1 316

Did the vet get back to you re the cisapride? Maverick was in full liver failure and needed a stomach motility drug. The first vet prescribed reglan but the specialty hospital that did his second major abdominal surgery ten days later prescribed cisapride.

Re: 3/14 Zener PMPS 269;+1 316

I can't remember if Zener is on cypro- if he is always give an antinausea medication with this. Cerenia is good for vomiting. Ondansetron is better than this for general nausea. Vets seem to be really keen on cerenia though - I know you guys like it because its injectable. You can get injectable dolasetron which is the sister drug to ondansetron.

Hello Karrie, thank you for stopping in to check on Zener! The vet did not get back to us today. We expect to hear from her in the next day or two. If not, we will email or call her. She wanted to do some research on it first. Evidently, it is not readily available here.

We gave him cypro for a couple of days before we went to the vet and we were also giving him ondansetron at the same time. We are not all that keen on injectables, but it seemed the cerenia worked better for him than the ondansetron, and we could only get cerenia as an injectable. He ate well yesterday but not so much tonight, so we are going to start the cypro again in combination with the cerenia, and a very low dose.

Re: 3/14 Zener PMPS 269;+1 316;+3 211

PMPS 269, 5th cycle @1.75u, 1/4oz 8%, 1/16t miralax, 1/2PP & 1/8 zantac
+1 316, 0.50z 8%
+1.5, 0.5oz 8%
+3 211, 3mg Zobaline & 1PP, 1/4PP & 1/8 Cypro, 0.55oz 11%

Wasn't all that keen in eating at +3 so we added back the appy stimlant, cypro, in combo with the anti-nausea med, cerenia. More tests to come.

Re: 3/14 Zener PMPS 269;+1 316;+3 211

It looks like Z is going to be a blue boy tonight, if not green.

I wondered about this too:

I got up at about +7 last night to use the LB

and I thought, maybe they live in a yurt and have to go outside?

Re: 3/14 Zener PMPS 269;+1 316;+3 211

Almost blue! Glad to hear he is feeling better with the cerenia on board. Sounds like he felt well enough to run inside from the scary cat outdoors :-D

Wow..I didnt realize it was that warm there today...hope you enjoyed your bike ride. We are also supposed to get cold, rainy weather and possibly snow in the mountains. Enjoy your remaining spring break days.

Well, darn it..wrong way. Looking more and more like not quite enough juice.

@Randa - we don't have a yurt, but Zener does! Liz posted a picture of him in his yurt on our condo a few months back. I'll ask her to find it and show you! He also has a man cave!  Doesn't look like he is headed in the blue direction tonight though.

@Marje - we were hoping the same thing, at almost blue. He is definitely feeling better but his appy was off again tonight so we added the appy stimulant in the mix. Karrie suggested if giving the appy stimulant be sure and have him on anti-nausea med like cerenia or ondansetron. So, since he seemed to be on the way down, thought it best to stimulate his appy, just in case. And his numbers went the other direction, poo! It's looking to me like he may not be getting enough juice, but 2.0u was too much, so we may try fattening up the dose after another another cycle or two. Any thoughts?

We have Zener on Zantac (rantinidine) now instead of pepcid, as it has some reported motility effect and we are asking our vet to consider using cisipride for gastric motility. Sometimes he just doesn't seem to move things through his tummy very fast. He has felt well enough to patrol his back yard and chase Tillie a little. :-D
