So far, it seems like Tessa's body naturally prefers her BG to be around 90 which makes sense. I looked through old records I had for her so I could see what her numbers had been in the past. Her blood work from November 2021 showed her BG was 95 and blood work from January 2021 showed her BG was 98 and both of those times were long before her diabetes diagnosis. I believe she was fasted both times, I know she was for the January 2021 because that was a dental cleaning appointment.
Both of those tests could have been influenced by stress but our vet tends to do any blood work as early as possible in the appointment so that stress doesn't have time to influence numbers too much. Her most recent BG at the vet was 88 at +1.5 a couple weeks ago and that's pretty much spot on what her BG normally would have been around that time.
