day before yesterday

punkin was mr purry boy this morning. shockingly! despite this morning's high number, yesterday he spent a lot of time in the blues, so this is just a bounce and i'm not concerned about it. he seems to be clearing them faster, like every other day, which is great.

breakfast scarfed down, Anya's plate cleaned diligently *whew* membership in the Clean Plate Club status is maintained! lots of purrying while chowing down the pill pockets. first and second breakfasts all done and the timed feeder should go off in about 6 minutes. he runs for that thing the second he hears it. i always feel terrible if i'm home and it's not filled, so i went ahead and filled it this morning even though i'm here for a while.

he's had 3 doses now of gabapentin (15mg) and i am not sure if it's doing much or not. can't tell. but he's not any different than on the bupe. if only he would tell me how these drugs are working!

Hi guys .. it's so nice to hear that punkin is clearing these bounces quickly .. Sounds like lots of purring and lots of kitty fuddies at your house .. what is better then that, right? Have a great day!

What I saw with Weezer on gaba was very subtle, but then she didn't really appear to be in pain. I had noticed she would stiffen when I picked her up, like it hurt, or she was afraid it would hurt. Now she is relaxed in my arms. That's about it, but very welcome to me.

Re: 3/14 punkin amps 383

Thank you for reassuring me that punkin's CPC status is maintained!  Yep, let's clear this bounce, punkin, and get back to those nice blues. Have a good one Julie! Are you off today?

oh poor punkin! i tested him just now, got anya's plate ready and put her in the laundry room with it. punkin's food was in the feeder already, which was about to go off. so i stood there with him telling him to watch. he stuck his head in the feeder compartment to see if he'd missed something in that empty compartment just as the timer went off & the feeder dish rotated. up came his head, he watched it go around, then he dove back into the fresh food. he is so much good entertainment!

i work with a "challenging" child in the mornings, liz - who had an "extra challenging" morning yesterday so was not at school today. however, i've had another child added on in the afternoons so i am going in in a couple of hours to work with her.

it's nice being home for the morning.

I can't imagine, dealing with a challenging child... on the other hand, we deal with Zener.  I worry that the automatic feeder will change when Zener has his stuck in the compartment and he will be so traumatized that he'll never go near it again. I guess that's not a worry with punkin.

Keep on that path, Punkin, you are headed in the right direction. Tess doesn't pay much attention to the feeder, I usually have to go show her. But then we don't use it hat much now anyway.

Hi Julie,

It sounds like Punkin is feeling good today in spite of the number and that's what counts. I'd love to see him waiting with his head in the feeder. That must be so cute.

Aww, I can just picture Punkin's auto feeder adventure! Glad we don't have to worry about him eating! Keep sliding down, Punkin!

Re: 3/14 punkin amps 383 +3/354

Binks would expect his to offer up 5 meals, one right after the other
It's what he's trying his utmost to train me to do for him

Re: 3/14 punkin amps 383 +3/354

The numbers are almost irrelevant when you have a happy cat, right, Punkin? :-D

Does working with a challenging child mean special ed, physical therapy, or parole officer, Julie? I don't know what sort of work you do, and I'm curious. A friend of mine works with kids who have been in the court system because of anger issues and violence. Definitely challenging kids.
