Yesterday

Oliver has been extra hungry and vocal today. I'm guessing cause his numbers are yellow today instead of blue green of yesterday. I just don't understand this disease. I didn't do anything different from yesterday, same food, same times and his numbers are that much higher. I'm just confused. It doesn't make sense.

Dosing question: I know he isn't ready for increase during first cycle because of his green numbers the past two days but would it make sense to increase his PM cycle by 0.25 as he always goes high. Would increasing only one cycle mess up the other cycle and his depot? Or do I need to just be more patient.....I do have problems with this LOL. Thanks!!

Definitely patience....it's a virtue as they say. And we NEED it here :arghh:
I'll let the more advanced members advise on dosing...but you do want to keep doses the same if you can for the sake of the depot.

So I wondered a lot about this kind of thing when dealing with Purrl. You seem to be more regimented than I am with feeding. We feed meals by weight. Each cat gets a different amount. We feed a wide variety of raw and will feed generally not more that a tsp (and quite often less) of the same l/c canned food with raw meals until can is empty, then move on to a different can.

These are things I thought of that may influence severity of hunger response:
- activity of cat for that day like lots of chasing or playing
- amount of water drinking
- stress realized or not
- nervous energy like pacing but could relate to stress
- sign of some other health issue rising like thyroid
- perhaps the recipe has changed for the canned food, little less fat or protein
- and maybe they are like people, some days you are just starving and don't know why despite having eaten usually

These are just my thoughts on possibilities.

I do weigh out all of Olivers food on one of those food scales. I'm a little OCD about it. His LC food is at 7% so not even really low but its affordable for us. Yesterday I did give him some HC went he dropped into the 50's as I am not ready for those numbers.
I just don't understand if he eats the same food at same times and same amounts and he is as lazy as can be from one day to the next why would one day he be low blue and greens and the next day be in yellow? This disease is very confusing to me.

If you increase, you might find him going lower than the 50's. Are you ready for that? Always ask yourself, how low is the dose taking my cat. If the answer is 50's or 60's, there isn't really much room for an increase. Find your self a styling pair of patience pants, maybe a few pairs. :p
