3-14 LEO AMPS 442/ +2 382/ PMPS 259/ +2 192/ +6.75 96

Leo's ears looking a bit battered... is a +4 needed? Maybe I can give him a break. One of his ears is more difficult to bleed than the other, even though I use a warmed rice sock beforehand.(so the other ear takes the load sometimes; not brave enough to poke a pad.)

Ear Care
Since our kitties must endure so many tests, what are some ways to take care of the ears?
  • Hold a wet, cool baby washcloth on the poke site immediately after the test to prevent bruising.
  • Put Emla cream on the test sites after each test. It only takes a tiny dab and you can wipe it off before the next test. Emla cream requires a prescription from your vet. Neosporin with has been found to contain a toxin to cats, polymixin and should be avoided.
  • You can purchase Ledum 30C homeopathic remedy at any health food store. Dissolve one tablet in a small bottle of pure water and then apply one or two drops to each ear every day. Ledum is great for puncture wounds.

Thanks, @Bandit's Mom.

I usually have Vaseline on an ear when I poke; early on, I used Argentyn 23 on his ears afterwards (after the Vaseline), but somehow stopped with overwhelming new activities.

Soaking Ledum 30C right now and will use before I go to bed. But time to load the AF.
(I've learned to keep Ledum around in various potencies as my husband has too many run-ins with yellow jacket stings! My word, his hand swells so much! Thank you for the reminder to use these remedies! That's something else that's taken a back seat--learning/studying homeopathy. I'm a newbie.

Have you found homeopathy to be effective in your experience? I have started my civvie Budge on some homeopathic meds for her arthritis at the recommendation of my vet. Hoping it helps. I think it will take some time to show any effect.

Btw, have you managed to advance the time of Leo's shots?
If you can, set an alarm for a test at +6 or +7 tonight?

+6.75=96

Took longer than normal for AMPS... Leo was flicking ear around a lot making it difficult to poke, so ended up later at 10:15, by the time the insulin went in. So no improvement yet.

I'll comment later about homeopathy later. Need some more shut eye.
