Posting from work....can't grab yesterday's link right now.....

Trix's "PS" numbers are continuing to improve...last night we had a 117 without me being home for a +9 snicky snack, and now this pretty 126 this morning. I don't know if that's the ABs themselves, or if it the ABs have been fixing whatever it is that has been going on with her for ages and now she's eating the snacks I leave out, or what. This morning, almost all the overnight fuds was eaten - and I had left out more than usual. Trixie, Frankie, and Zen are the only ones who would even consider eating that slop, and Zen spent most of the night in the bedroom with us. So, for the most part, it must have been eaten by either Frankie or Trixie or both.

I'm going to call vetty with an update today. We have 3 days left on her AB, and my gut is still telling me we should run it a bit longer, just to be sure. This is actually very unlike me....I do try to avoid things like ABs unless absolutely necessary. But I see what a HUGE difference they have made for her, and if this is a kidney infection that is not being detected through any other tests aside from her crazy kidney values and the fact that they came down a little bit after the first course of Zeniquin, I want to be sure we run the ABs as long as necessary. I know kidney infections require a long course of ABs. We'll see what vetty says. We both know any extra BW is out of the question, since chances are that will cause a setback.

I am still having a really, really, really hard time with the stupid gelcap. They are going down, but she is tense and hissy before I even start! Once again, she hissed at me before my first attempt this morning. As soon as it went down, I got a big hiss. And I now I have a big ole muscle knot in my shoulder/neck from the stress of these pilling events. She is FEISTY! And that is awesome - at the right times!! She is SO good at swallowing pills - I don't know why she's starting out tense from the get-go right now. I could see it if I have multiple failed attempts, but before I even start, she's tense. Ugh. It will pass....I hope.

Appy was wonderful off the charts ecstatic last night (she kept pushing Frankie out of her bowl!!), and has been going strong this morning. Feistiness has been covered here, and we had our morning snuggles and belly-roasting by the heating vent. Last night, I wanted to stay up all night just to watch her because she was feeling awesome and I loved seeing it...such a change from staying up all night to keep an eye on her when she wasn't feeling well!

Time to get myself moving for work....Sending extra prayers out for Deanna's Billie, and for Chris's China who is going for a dental today.

have a great day, L&LL!

Amy

WOW! Look at those low blues, maybe a dip in the lagoon? And nice to see the happy appy. :) Drat on the gelcap... Happy Friday!

you are making me feel lucky that I can give Shadow pills....
gel caps are the hardest, but I coat those with butter and I just move fast and plunge it as far back as I can....
with 50% success that she swallows or spits it out.

Its so nice when they eat!

So glad I don't have to do gel caps! C'mon now, Trixie, make it easier on dabean. You know how confused you'd make her if you'd 'just open wide and swallow.'

Another very nice PMBG....I need a kitty cam so I can see if she's helping herself to the fuds I leave out or what. Happy appy, Mannie Fuds Dance, and Trix says it is time for fluids! She loves fluids since it involves hanging in the master bedroom.

The gelcap is a mixed blessing. It allows me to get all her meds down in one shot, without her tasting bitterness, and she can't spit it out without me seeing it. So it has huge pluses. She just has days when she wants nuthin' to do with it...which usually is spottier than it's been lately. I do butter it, but it really doesn't seem to make much of a difference, really...at this point, I butter it out of habit!

I'm hoping to catch up on condos after we beans have our own din-dins.....if I can stay awake!

Sorry she's hissing about the gel caps so much. I hope it passes soon. It's great to hear she's feeling so much better.
