So it appears that Shakes has blood in his urine again...Its been over a year...crap
so off to the vet...definately blood in the urine, not sure if it is a UTI....
on antibiotics, but I did get a new vial of insulin so hoping and praying this one
works better...
If it is not a UTI, does anyone know why the blood in urine
I thought I reaad something about crystals??
Thank and hope allis well out there

Thanks for giving me all that info Sue!
that is a lot of reading but it doesnt sound like crystals
She put him on clavamox and will callin a few days with the results

Sorry about Shakes. Hopefully it is not serious and the clavamox will clear it up. While Shakes has the possible infection...test for Ketones! When Kitty went DKA it was in conjunction with a bloody UTI. She had no ketones on Saturday, but a bloody UTI and high BG numbers. Sunday afternoon she had moderate ketones and was DKA-- it can come on quick.

Hope he gets better soon!

Last month when Baxter was at the vet for blood in his urine & test negative for UTI. The vet said it could have been a stone that might have passed. His kidney gravity was a little off, but nothing to be concerned about.

Just thought I would share my story.

Hope Shakes gets healthy soon.
Keep us updated.

Hope Shakes feels better soon Denise! Poor thing

Seems to be a range with these things. Asher had one a few years back and had no blood in his urine, just acted weird in the litter box and acted sick. My Mom’s cat on the other hand, had ruby red urine, very bright deep red but didn’t act sick at all. We only knew b/c he got some on a chair and peed out of his box once.

Healing vibes comin your way!

One time when Henry had a UTI when first diagnosed with FD, he had just a tiny amount of blood in his urine. He had that one that recurred don't think it ever completely cleared up until he had the Cipro instead of first antibiotic vet gave him. He had a UTI once after that but no blood specks and it cleared quickly and he hasn't had one in a long time.
My first clue he was getting one is he would pee just outside the litter box or would still be peeing as he was getting out and it would run under the box, very unusual, not normal behavior for him. Also, his pee smelled really "fishy". Vet said that was the blood in urine, just wasn't visible.
Hope Shakes starts feeling better soon. Maybe this is why he has been running unusually high for his pattern, an infection was brewing?
I thought when they had crystals they would cry out when they tried to pee, very painful.
