Yesterday
Good morning and Happy Sunday! The days will be getting longer now...I just love Daylight Savings Time. I made the effort for 4 days to inch the time back instead of doing it on two days at a half an hour a pop. Looks as if it doesn't even matter to Raja that it was gradual cause she ended up with a blue this morning anyway. She doesn't seem to care too much about aiming for the green. I think she could do it if she put her mind to it. It would be so easy for her....
oh well.
She has 4 Ps this morning which is a nice way to start the day, even if she is in a low blue. She was settling into one of her baskets when I came out with the syringes..... She looked at me and said "Well, you have missed the opportunity once again. I am already settling in for my morning nap and I have finished with the morning's schedule of things to do. I had my test and I ate and now I am nice and comfy here....ready to sleep. Sorry Mama...better luck next time!"

I picked her up out of the basket and brought her to the testing towel.
A deep sigh form the Raja.
Thinking back to all those years before dx....I didn't really know them too well at all. I am guilty of taking them for granted, cleaning the LB when necessary and putting down food an water for them. I never really knew them as I do nowadays. Keeping track of their BGs and bodily functions and being on such a strict schedule of testing, feeding and shooting has brought me to an understanding of them that has amazed me. It surpasses anything I have ever done in my life. Even having two infants, while being an intense strict schedule, lasted for only a few months until the babies got older and didn't need the hourly fussing over......it was still 24/7 but didn't seem as intense as this FD dance. It requires discipline and planning, but it turns out that they are disciplined too!
I am in awe of their acceptance of these daily procedures....and I respect them so much for going along with the program as they do...... Of course, there are people who would roll their eyes if they heard me say that I "respect" my two kitties...but who cares about them!!! I DO respect them and am in awe of things they do... Feeling a little reflective this morning I guess.....
Hope you all have a great Sunday! :YMHUG:

Re: 3/13 Raja AMPS=111

Oh, Pat, I would never roll my eyes at you for that! I am right with you, respectful and amazed at my boy since FD came along...and sort of sad about how much I took for granted before. I understand my Chaos more completely now than was ever possible before FD. Our cats work hard right along with us, putting up with the ritual, the tests, the constant fussing...and loving us back through all of it. I am reassured to hear you say that in some ways, this is as much work as an infant. I am unable to have children, so loving and caring for Chaos is one of the more fulfilling things I will ever do. This post has warmed my heart and left me all teary-eyed. :YMHUG:

As for Miss Raja, 111 is a very low blue indeed. Don't sweat it, she'll come back to green....she's a cat, that explains everything, right?

Re: 3/13 Raja AMPS=111

Aww, Pat, I love your reflections today. I was surprised at the deep bond I developed with my kitties as I treated BigMac's FD and Cappi's, (civvie), throat injury. I always loved my kitties but you are right - the intensity of this love and understanding increased 10-fold. And it worked both ways, i think they feel a tighter bond to me too.

Oh, boo hoo..... Now I'm really homesick and miss my furry little kitties even more.

As for daylight savings time... Wow, I'm going to lose 6 hours sleep when I get home next weekend. That's gonna' hurt.

Morning Pat - and Raja - looking good today - greens coming up?

Love the thoughts and reflections Pat, and I could not agree more. Have a great day today!

Re: 3/13 Raja AMPS=111

I so agree Pat. I've gotten to know my current group of kitties better than any in the past since I quit working and have been home with them so much. Even so, the appearance of FD drew my attention to even more things, such as diet, and really paying attention to how each and every one of them are feeling every day. I just went downstairs to get food for Muffin, and Kibby was in Shnookie's spot on the couch! Never seen that before and a year ago may not have even really noticed. But I am grateful that I notice these things now, and know them all so very very well, and I do have FD to thank for that!

Re: 3/13 Raja AMPS=111

I compltely understand where your coming from too Pat!! I respect my Arnie too for his courage and complete acceptance of being tested and getting his juice twice a day. He never fusses about it infact he looks forward to it because he knows food comes right afterward. Diabetes is a terrible thing but I must say that it has brought me and my big boy so much closer together it is incredible!! Up until he was diagnosed as a sugar cat I pretty much took him for granted. I fed him, petted him occasionally and we stayed out of each others way. The past 4 years we have bonded like I never have in my life with any animal. The time that we spend together is very special to both of us and I know that he would agree!! LOL

As for the time change...OMG it has been so crazy here this week I didn't even know about it until Friday and completely forgot to do any adjustments. So Arnie actually got his morning juice an hour in advance this morning. He didn't care and his numbers have been better today so far than the past few so maybe it's a good thing..Have a Great Day guys!! :thumbup
