Well, disappointed and worried by today's numbers, especially after a PMBG last night of 81 (almost 50 points less!) but not totally surprised. Quincy vomited a 1/2 hour before the AMBG test. It wasn't a hairball, but rather a small amount of very digested food. Funny last night I was thinking that he hadn't vomited in almost a week, so I felt like he might be "due." To top it off, I fed him a little more yesterday because he seemed hungry, and then I found out this morning that apparently my husband had given Quincy extra food yesterday too. So I think maybe his pancreas and his GI system overall (recall he has IBD and GI lymphoma) got too much of a workout yesterday.
This is what we've done so far today:
AMBG - 130 - fed 1/2 of regular size breakfast
+1 - 118 - fed 1/2 of regular breakfast
+4 - 108 - fed a snack somewhat smaller than normal
I think I will get a +6 or +7 just to see if Quincy's still bringing himself down. Hopefully with a little less food today, it'll help give his GI system a bit of a rest. And from Sunday onward, we are going to make sure Quincy is fed more consistently. It's amazing how sensitive his system seems to be when he eats a little more than usual. Of course, he loved all the food, and even last night woke me up at 12:30am trying to break into his timer feeder.
I should add he is alert, happy, etc., with a good appetite and regular BMs.
I hope he comes back down! I was thinking if Quincy made it through the weekend, his prospects were good for a successful OTJ trial, and now this.
