I didn't post his PMPS last night - I was lazy! It was 408! This morning's AMPS of 361 is better, but still ugly. He didn't eat well last night so we gave him the app stimulant. This morning, he didn't seem to feel well. Even with the stimulant on board, it took a lot of coaxing to get him to eat. He was hiding in the closet when I left for work. DH2B will get a spot check in at some point today. This morning was C6 at 6 units.

Re: 3/13 Logan AMPS 361

Hi Kelly,
Just dropping by to give a little support. I know how bad you must be feeling.
It's so frustrating when we can't get them to do what we want them to do.
Logan's appy doesn't perk up from chicken dust or tuna flakes? (Yeah, I'm sure you've tried that stuff)
I got these freeze dried tuna things by Grandma Lucy(much like Halos)
that my guys love sprinkled over their food...
Hang in there Kelly and try to have a nice day :)

Re: 3/13 Logan AMPS 361

Oh Kelly, I hope Logan has a better day today.
I hate hearing when he is off and does not want to eat.
I know DH2B will take really good care of him.
Work fast and go home to your boy.

Re: 3/13 Logan AMPS 361, +5 343

Not much movement. Still fussy about eating. DH2B will test/feed around +8.

We try tuna flakes, chicken dust, baby food, salmon dust, etc...the only thing that will work when he gets like this (and still doesn't work great) is to sprinkle a few pieces of dry core on the wet.

I found him hovering around Niam's food stand last night. There was no food in it at that point, but he did snag a few pieces while Niam ate his dinner earlier last night. He used to be obsessed about dog kibble (he'd actually put his paw thru the crate and flick pieces out while Niam ate as a puppy - before we abandoned the crate thing!) but he stopped several months ago when he got sick. I'm not sure why he's back to this, but now we have to watch him very closely while Niam eats. No worries about him getting Livy's food. she eats in her crate and snarls at the cats if they walk by while she's eating. She's food aggressive - rescue/stray - which is why she eats in the crate!

I wish he'd eat something besides FF - I just don't see how his IBD is going to get better eating that stuff. It has too many ingredients. I also don't think the pred is working to control the IBD. If it was, I think he'd be eating better on his own. I should hear from the internist early this week. If not, I'll be hunting her down! I will not increase his pred, though. We will be trying something new!!!

I should be home in time for PMPS. I wish I could go home now - this return I'm working on is awful!!! I love tax season!!!

:YMHUG: Kelly, I'm sorry. So incredibly frustrating when it's just one thing. Then you add other issues on top of that and it feels like you are beating your head against the wall. Do you think it would be worth posting on the high dose forum? I dont know what is considered high dose, tho.

I wanted to tell you that when Latte and I lived with a dog and after she got sick with the kidney failure, I often caught her eating the dog food. I let her do it then because of the circumstances. Besides, the dog ate her food too! I dont know, maybe there is a correlation between a cat not feeling well and craving whatever is in the dog food. You did say Logan was trying to eat it, right?

Well I hope the new dose bumps those numbers down a bit. Maybe you and logan can get in a little snuggle time tonight.

So Logan ate the dog food before getting sick, stopped when he got sick, and now is back at the dog food thefts? That's some good news, yes? He's gone back to his old ways.

Yes! I can relate to tracking down the drs; I do that all the time, and I don't care if they are hiding in the back room till I go away - I'll wait them out in the office.
I know they may be busy, but whose kitty is most important? YOURS! That's which one!

I sure wish I could suggest something about the food/appetite. Shadoe has her fussy days too and today I opened 4 diff kinds of food - I keep trying until I find one she eats

Hopefully you will get some answers from the drs, and maybe someone around here will have some suggestions/advice that can help.

Kelly
Good luck with that increase tonight. Sure hoping this one will be the kicker.
Funny how Logan wants that dog food. Guess the appy stimulant is working.
If only he would eat his own food.
Logan - feel better and give Mama some nice numbers so she can stop worrying (or worry less)

I hope Logan is feeling better. Maybe it's just an off day. My guy does that now and then - worries me silly.

Funny is a way re: the drooler food. No doubt mine would do that too.

I hope you have a nice evening!

I'm sorry Logan isn't eating well.

KB used to always get a piece of kibble when the dog ate. If you didn't give him one he'd take one out of her bowl or stand up on his hind legs and try to get one out of the bag. I think he was just always hungry and that was the only other food available. Maybe when he BGs come back down he will crave the dog food less?

(((((Kelly))))) It does sound goo that he is going for the doggie kibble. At least he has an interest in something.... ;-)
