3/13 Helping diabetic kitty with hairballs

[Kathy and Kitty]

Kitty gives deep abdominal heaves to try to cough up his hairballs. I'd like to help him get rid of hairballs in the other direction!

Is there an oil or remedy that's safe for diabetic kitties?

A friend suggested coconut oil, but I wasn't sure whether it would be good for the diabetes. All suggestions welcome!

I used to use VetBasis brand, but it is almost impossible to find now.

Now I use NaturVet Natural Hairball Aid. Petrolatum Free. No sugar.

Just want to be sure the sorbitol and soy are not problems for the diabetic cat?

Kitty takes Cosequin fine, but rejected Dasuquin completely. We thought it might be the soy in it.

Active Ingredients:
Soybean Oil, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Flaxseed Oil, d-Alpha Tocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E), Sorbitol, Soy Protein, Chicken Flavor, Lecithin, Tuna Flavor, Maple Flavor, Beeswax, Methylcellulose, Chamomile and Catnip.
