3/13 Buzzy AMPS 126 = 1u; PMPS 82 = 1u; +2 (73) new low shoot!

I hope you can figure out what's causing all the itchiness...allergies are difficult to deal with.

Nice numbers! I hope you have a good day!

Are you going to try Zyrtec? Poor Buzzy. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

yeah I'm going to crush 5mg up in his mid-afternoon meal I think since he doesn't get insulin w/ that one so I can risk him not eating it or something.

I'm a little concerned bc he does have that UTI history now & I hear zyrtec can be problematic for cats w/ bladder problems...I thought about just doing 2.5mg.... I'm only doing 1x per day.

Unrelated, but since I'm WFH now, I'm also scooting his shot time back -- it's going to be weird sleeping past 5am.

Turkey pate food came.
He won't touch it (of course).
I'll try gradually introducing it, but I have little hope.

I gave him 5mg of zyrtec crushed in his normal food & he ate that just fine, so fx this helps -- how quickly would I see an effect you think @carfurby ? Not hair re-growth, but like...less shaking/itching... could it be in a day or so?

Well it's been 2 hours, so the zyrtec should be working & he's still itching...so there's that.
But IDK that zyrtec would help w/ itching or how fast or whatever....
maybe it's NOT an allergy?
I feel like I've thrown everything at this thing - antibiotics, chlorhexadine, food changes, now zyrtec...obviously I need to give the zyrtec regime more time and such, but still.

I think we might have to try steroids if this continues

New low shoot!
Now if he'd just eat his food....
he is not a fan of the American Journey though I mixed it 50/50 with the old food

his ears are bugging him so much I just caved and put hydrocortisone (2.5%) on his ears. Guess we'll see if this messes w/ his sugar.
I know I should probably consult a veterinary dermatologist at this point, but I can't afford it.

Well, if hydrocortisone cream impacts his blood sugar, it doesn't do so immediately.
I'm honestly considering decreasing his dose and not testing for a week... to see if that actually helps... but obviously that's terrifying, and he's got such good numbers now... ugh
I don't know what to do. Give Zyrtec a few days then try benadryl instead? ugh
