Recap of yesterday:
AMPS 165
+3=306
+6=263
+11=250
+3=201
+5==102
+6=79
+7.5=89
I stopped testing at 3 a.m. and couldn't sleep. He as definitely gone from 14 lbs. 9 oz. to 14 lbs 14 oz. so I need to be careful with his eating. He had gotten down to 14 lbs 6 oz and that was fine but his vet would be happiest with an even 14.I guess all these treats add up even if just chicken. Have a great day.

I got through last night all by myself. Yea for me. I wonder if his Nadir is late today or he is surfing?

Fantastic cycle last night for Max. :-D I hope you got a nap in today Elise - that was a late night.

Neko's nadir is so variable from cycle to cycle that I don't bother trying to pin it down. It does look like a relatively flat day for Max which probably feels good for him.

Re: 3/13/14 Max/Elise AMPS 180+3=250+5.5=190

Without a clear Nadir, how do you decide if a dose is correct? I thought it is based on Nadir as well as highs/lows. Do you just look at trends?

I didn't nap today but didn't do much either. I just went through some paperwork looking for receipts I needed and pulled stuff to get ready for doing my taxes and made a quick trip to Trader Joes. Max had been sleeping the day away again. I'm not sure why he is sleeping so much.

I hope you had a good day, Wendy.

Re: 3/13/14 Max/Elise AMPS 180+3=250+5.5=190

you just look at the lows for the past 3-4 days and see how low a dose is getting Max.

great job handling it all last night! i came home from work and fell asleep on the sofa for 2 hours, and i have no excuse like having stayed up to take care of a diabetic cat. although last night i just re-started taking antihistamines (all the spring trees are blooming here) and they always knock me out, even the non-drowsy ones.

Re: 3/13/14 Max/Elise AMPS 180+3=250+5.5=190

Max is looking better and better :-D . Those late nights kill me! :o I hope you get some rest tonight, Elise.

Re: 3/13/14 Max/Elise AMPS 180+3=250+5.5=190

Thanks, Julie. I have the opposite effect. Everything wires me! I hope it isn't a bad spring fir you.

Thanks Rachel. I'm not a good sleeper as it is. By the time I was done testing I was so tired but had a hard time fling asleep. Then Mr. Max decided to whimper starting at 6 I think. It's all a blur. I hope Chyna has recovered from the vet visit and you too of course.

Hi Elise!

Nice to see Max in good numbers today.

As Julie said, you can't look at just once cycle.....you have to look at several. One cycle might be a bounce clearing cycle and so the lowest number would be late in the cycle.

I think it's good to be able to have an ideas of your cats onset, nadir, and duration. But nadirs, in particular, move around.

You asked about how Gracie acts in the 30s? The same as she does at 80, 130, 240  no signs although if she gets rally low....as I closer to 30, she sometimes acts hungry.

Re: 3/13/14 Max/Elise AMPS 180+3=250+5.5=190PMPS233+3=217

I thought you would say that there is no change in how Gracie acts when in the 30's because I don't notice any change whether Max is high or lower. I suspected he would be weaker when his BG dropped but found that not to be the case. That is strange to me. I don't understand how people can have diabetic cats on insulin and not test at home. It's a wonder that those cats survive. I'm not yet seeing a pattern with Max yet but maybe that is because he is not yet regulated so still bouncing around.
