Well at least you get to go back to bed. Every time I've thought I've given a furshot we had action. You just never know.

LOL Sorry! Willie and I took advantage of the fact that he was mid-yellow and that it was Saturday morning, and we just woke up! Could go either way on the furshot at this point... it could just be a wonky cycle. I went back to the Relion syringes today, and when I shot, it just didn't feel right... I couldn't feel any wetness on his fur, but he reeked of insulin. Either way, it will be okay.

Willie has inspected the neighborhood goings on from both the bedroom and sunroom windows. He just contemplated playing, but decided to hop on the couch and love on me for a bit. So I guess I'd better see what the boy wants!

I am bit thankful for a saturday where I can get a bunch of errands run!

Hi Christie & Willie.. Happy Caturday.. sometimes the kitties do smell like Lantus & it isn't a furshot, everytime I have thought it was a furshot (very few times) but it never was. It is hard to say because sometimes the kitties go up instead of down after a shot & the cycle is just strange, I don't think we will ever know if it was a furshot. I too switched back to the Relion syringes today, I have been using the BDs & really liked them, but Libby suggested I go to a syringe with 1/2 unit markings & so I did - thankfully it was bubble free this morning, but I wonder how the doses compare with different syringes :?: If it isn't one question it is another :lol:

Not to worry just yet, sometimes when you shoot out the bubbles, you get some insulin on the needle & that excess is what you smell on the fur--
Hope it all went in--Looks like a dose crease is an idea--He was green the other night & could still be bouncing? Bounces can take 72 hrs.to clear--Moonie does it to me sometimes --
Also, sometimes you need to go up, to get back down--Look at our SS!!
I was just upping Moonie to a F0.5 & she went to 33!! So we are back to 0.5--

LOL Thanks, guys! Nicole, i think you are right... we will never know. I do think the half-unit syringes are a good idea. I am at the end of my box of monojects, and it is nice to not be dosing around giant bubbles every shot. Seriously, I tried everyone's tricks, and nothing worked for me! Whatever it is today... I'm in my zen place. He is still my happy, purry boy. We will figure out what to do (can I get a "DOSECREASE?!?"), and he will be just fine.

I am going nuts with the neosporin this weekend, though! It was the dermatology vet tech who was all freaking out about the number of ear pokes Willie gets, so I want his ears looking perfect when she sees him on Monday!! :-D :-D I think the switch to the delica (it's a 33 gauge... we were using a 31 before) will help.

Ya hear dat, Rusty? Ur Bean sez dere's sposed to be a meeting? I tink dat means we'z s'posed to get togedder for sum fun today!! See ya soon? --Willie

Glad you got some btb and hopefully you got some juice in him. I'm beginning to realize that syringes are totally personal preference. I didn't like the BDs or the Relions and love the MJs....I get a little bubble in it but it's not bad and it's consistent. There was some research about the variance in syringes and I remember the BDs had one of the most inconsistent dosing because the lines are often goofy....which I also found with the Relions. Anyway..good luck!!

Not too bad so far if it was a furshot, maybe at least some got in. It will be so nice to get back to regular shot times too. Even touhg we are doing small increments I think it can effect the numbers.

Well, yuck. Willie doesn't seem to notice... he is currently having a sparring match with one of his Miss Mousies. I'm almost positive I shot properly tonight, but moving from the monojects back to the relions is definitely taking some getting used to!!

If he is still high tomorrow morning, we're going back up to 1 unit.

So, I learned two good things today.

First, Petco is on Mr Rebates with an 8% rebate. AND there is a cool site Plastic Jungle where you can buy gift cards at a discount (they buy gift cards there too if you have them), and petco ones are sold at a 9% discount. While I do have to pay sales tax on the Petco site, shipping was very reasonable(only $4.99 for my order)... a case of Merrick BG, a 40# bag of precious cat litter, a feliway (for DS' demon cat), a feliway refill for Willie and a 6oz bag of purebites for under 100% with a 10% coupon code, then deduct the 9% gift card savings AND the cashback on top of that. Not bad at all!

Second, playing tennis within an hour of eating a full order of biscuits and gravy AND a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie ranks up there on my list of worst. ideas. ever. Though, at least the B&G were literally the best I've had in my life, and the pie was pretty kick a## as well. :-D

ok - i can't stop laughing - sorry - on the food thing and then the tennis thing... I cannot count the number of times I have done something similar. It always seems like it will be OK when one is in the middle of it all, and then bam! worst. idea. ever. :lol:

I don't know how they can ship such heavy things afford-ably. You'd think it would cost a fortune to ship something that weighed that much? Maybe just in Canada.
