Didn't realize it has been 5 days since last post -
Nothing new or dramatic - Murphy had his rabies shot and the vet remarked how great he looks, although his tartar is already appearing from a dental only a month ago. he get the entero probiotics and I put the supplement in his water every day (sigh)
My mother was readmitted to the hospital after a fall in the rehab facility - she's back at the rehab place for another 2 weeks. It's been a month since her stroke and is not improving - her dementia has gotten 1000x worse and this week my sister and I face the sad task of looking for a nursing home I asked her if she wanted me to bring Murphy and she said yes, so I'll bring him soon - have no idea how he will react

I was able to get to Chicago for 48 hours and what a difference it made for my psyche. Here's a photo of the annual dying of the Chicago river kelly green for the St. Patrick's Day parade - the color will be gone by today

I'm supposed to go on a hands-on safari with wildlife vets in South Africa in a month but that is totally up in the air at this point. Ah life ............never know what it will hand you

Hope everyone is coping with losing an hour of sleep and has a good Sunday

I hope that Murphy, at least, keeps things uneventful for you, Carol. You have so much on your plate with your mom. :bighug:
I saw a photo of the green water on the news. What do they use to make it green?

Vet visit sounds like it was a good one... clearly you are doing well with Murphy if the vet sees how great he looks... praying that even though this is really hard to go through with your mom that your sister is finally acknowledging and seeing what is needed... if she could then at least its two of you going through it together... i really do hope bringing Murphy in lifts her spirits... happy you got home to Chicago even if it was only for a couple days... sending prayers of strength and comfort... you never know where a whole month will take you :bighug::bighug:

Oh Carol, so sorry to hear the news about your Mom, that's really rough. So sweet she wants to see Murphy. That face would certainly brighten my day (in fact does every time I see your posts!). I really do hope you and your sister will be able to lean on each other in these tough times.
Glad to hear Murphy is looking and doing well! I always love to hear good reports about one of our kitties :bighug:
I'm looking for a recommendation for a probiotic if you have one. Uncle's vet sent us home with raw fermented goats milk but I noticed honey was one of the ingredients, so was cinnamon. I ended up giving it to Carlos, I probably should have taken some too!
Hope you are having a good Sunday :bighug:

Hi Barbara - I give Murphy several - because he develops tartar and gingivitis readily, my vet recommended a product called entero - which contains probiotics beneficial for the entire GI system, including the mouth. He also gets digestive enzymes that contain probiotics. Before I started these two, I gave him RenewLife Ultimate Flora - obviously you can't take the first two, I occasionally take a renew life - I'm still in a hunt for the best probiotics for me - I'm looking for ones that survive stomach acids

Sending HUGE HUGE HUGE make it on Safari vines for you:bighug::bighug::bighug:
I remember you posting about that opportunity, it sounds so once in a lifetime amazing....I truly hope you are able to go Carol:bighug::bighug::bighug:
Give Murphy a special scritch wherever he lives best from me..I'm missing scritching some ginger fur:bighug::bighug:
( wow, that's some municipal dedication, turning not just a city fountain but the whole RIVER green! Yowza!:D)
I'm so sorry to hear about your mum, it's awfully awfully hard, sending gentle hugs as you face those changes:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh Carol,I was wondering how you and your mom were doing and so sorry about the fall. Did she brea anything? I hope you'll be able to find a suitable home for her, not fun, I know.

Glad you got to Chicago for a respite and I love the photo of the green river :D

Glad that Murphy is doing well. :bighug:
