WCR: strange cycle again .. was kinda "high" last night and then back down to low this morning .. at least she was able to bring herself back down .. she got paroled from our bedroom earlier then normal this morning because we got a call early this morning saying my grandma had fallen again so we were up and mocha escaped ...

I think me and peter are going out later today, and might not be here in time to feed her for her +6 snack .. Would it be ok to feed her mini meals earlier? Should we feed +2 and +4, but double up the +4 mini meal?

I doubt that it will be a problem to feed early or if you're going to be home before +10, you could give later snacks. Now that we know Mocha's pancreas is working, a late snack may help with the PM number.

Yep .. we are going out ... nailbite_smile But I know she will be ok, without any extra insulin ... Sienne, you think the later snack time will bring down her pmbg number?

Yes, Devon.. a snack at +8 or +9 will bring down the PM# since she has a working pancreas.

Mocha is looking great! I'm sure it won't be a problem to give a larger snack early, or a late snack. She can handle it!!

I hope your grandma is OK. Is it her hip that is causing her to fall? My Auntie Elsie (at age 91) walked around for a whole weekend on a broken hip before she decided it was too painful and had it checked out and found out that it was broken!! So do get your grandma checked out!
(Elsie had hip replacement and lived to be 99!)

It is good that you all are getting out and enjoying your weekend. I hope that grandma is okay! You all are doing so wonderfully... I know it is stressful, but remember... you have so much to celebrate here! :)

Thanks everyone, again the encouragement here is unbelievable! So our plans for the day changed slightly which included taking my grandma to the ER .. We just got home so she is eating her +4 meal at +5 .. and we are going to try and be back to feed her again at +10 .. I'm worried this is going to give her a blue pmbg, but hoping she can bring it down if that does happen ...

Mocha is the sweetheart and hope/inspiration to all in LL!!! I'm so sorry to hear about your DGM. Healing vines...I hope she will check out ok at the ER and get home quickly. Have fun being OUT!!! And try not to worry about Mocha Jo...she's doing fantastic.

Thanks everyone .. mocha did really well today considering her food times were all messed up .. I wonder if we should bump her meals back each day? My grandma is staying overnight in the hospital .. they said that because she was cramped up in the tub for five hours yesterday, her muscles actually started breaking down, and got into her blood stream, which is causing strain on her kidneys so she is getting IV fluids all night .. She is TERRIFIED of the hospital .. I hope she really does get released tomorrow ....
 
Another great number for Mocha!!! Thoughts and prayers going out to your grandma for a speedy recovery and a stress-free evening at the hospital.

Oh Devon she must have been terrified being all cramped up like that for 5 hours. Sending healing vines to her and hope she gets out tomorrow. (((Devon's grandma)))
