For today I proudly offer Mannie's special 10 hr energy coffee, and triple shot espressos, with beans from Starbucks Pike Place Market, their original blend, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a venti quad peppermint white chocolate mocha, with peppermint infused whip, garnished with peppermint candy chips and white chocolate shavings... ..... Yesterday was..... GREEN day on Mannieland, as well as Vetty Day, AND Bouncy Day. :shock: Never a dull moment! Mannie did all kinds of things... the lagoon, peed on the IM vetty, climbed the mountain in NannerVille knows as Bounce Peak, and ate all kinds of good fuds. What a life! Sure kept his bean hoppin'! Rumor has it that the Blue Mannie Group was heard LIVE on Rusty's radiators, getting ready to play a gig at Wink's OTJ Party. Way to go guys! In all seriousness it was very nice to see him find the Lagoon, done in true Mannie fashion. One never knows what a vetty visit will do to him: he will either dive in the BG dept or soar to the moon. Yesterday we got the mini dive.... ;-) Also in true Mannie fashion we got the bounce up to the upper floors... one can hope that he will clear it quickly... In the meantime I hope for a good day today, more blues would be so cool! Mannie - here's to you, some very strong feel better, be blue vines. Lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

I wrote this yesterday, but thought I'd post it here too, in the event anyone missed it who wanted to know: VETTY VISIT: Mannie did well at the vetty. His potassium levels are up to 3.5, from a 3.1 from a month ago.(YAY! Potassium supplement is working!!) He is at the bottom of the range, just barely. BP was still high at 205, even with factoring in vetty stress, he is alot higher than he should be. The vet wants to consult with his regular IM vetty before making any changes to his meds. I suspect that the spironolactone may be increased some. He is currently on half a dose due to his sensitivity to multiple meds combos. Muscle weakness, though somewhat better on some days, is still an issue. The IM vet did mention some impaired vision reaction (things up close). We do know he has cataracts, but so far they are not affecting his ability to get around: no problems there. So... for now we are in a holding pattern, will continue with the way things are now, until I hear back from them on Wednesday, maybe Thursday.

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D He had a good day yesterday. Mobility was a bit of an issue in the late afternoon hours, with him having trouble on the tile floors. Things improved as the evening wore on. I wonder if the stress of the vet trip triggered the muscle weakness. He was so wound up there before we left the vet that I suspect maybe it did. I'm really not too sure though. The rest of the day went well for him.He had a few sniffs out on the deck, caught the one lonely sunbeam we got yesterday, spent alot of time with the nanners. He was so glad to get home after the vet. It was great to see him relax as the day wore on. Appy has been good (picky !!!, but good), CPC yesterday and this morning, LB is normal, Ketones tests have been negative. Test was good this morning, as was the shoot. :cool: I am happy to say one more time: Normalcy in MannieLand. :-D

Have a great day everyone. I am off to Seattle in the afternoon to have coffee with friends. The rest of the time I need to spend cleaning the house... it s needs it! UGH!

Hey everybody - I a so tired!!! Two OTJ parties in a row! :shock: Boy did we cook alot of funds! I have alot of leftovers too. What'd'ya say to going to the beach and just hanging out. Maybe Mannie has some lagoon plans today! Let's hope so. What a great day yesterday! (Maybe the tile is too cold, and that's why he had trouble...? You know how cold tile can get...)
I love the fact that he peed on the vetty (ok, maybe 'love' is too strong of a word ~ but there've been times I had wished my cat would've peed on my vetty :lol: ;-) :oops: :lol: .)

Morning Michelle, and oh no :lol: :lol: with Mannie peeing on the IM Vetty. I missed that yesterday. It was so neat seeing him hit the Green Lagoon. I hope he has a nice descent down today, too. That was a good exam yesterday. Sending more healing vines today for a good day for Mannie. I wonder if the Vetty stress did cause some of the muscle weakness. Hoping Mannie finds some rays of sun today.

Me too on the vetty thing and the piddle. He alwyas manages to nail them on one way or another.... :oops: :lol: It is just so Mannie. He reaches a point when he is there where enough is enough and he lets them know. ;-) :lol: and THX: Seattle visits are alwyas fun - YAY!

Even yellows would be nice... it was a good exam, he seemed to know his stuff too, and is on the same mind set as Mannie's regular IM vet. Me to on the stress and the muscle weakness, stress can cause so many things that I think maybe it contributed some. Things are somewhat better with it this morning. Sun would be nice: right now it is very windy and the rains loom, with possible sun breaks later today. Sure hope we get them! THX on Seattle - it will be fun.

Ohhhhhhhh, Mannie is actually down for his +2 today.....that's encouraging! :-D I know the number is basically the same, but we know that Mannie is normally up at +2, so I consider the same number, as down. Was that understandable? :lol:

Hey Mannie,

What's with your eyes - you got catracks? How did that happen? Are you having trouble seeing? Maybe you need to get a seeing eye drooler to help you get around! I don't have one, I don't want one. Silly droolers, they just are too big and make a mess. If you do get a seeing eye drooler, make sure it's the real thing and not an imposter seeing eye drooler. As you seem to attract imposter droolers!

Don't worry, if you have problems seeing, I am more than happy to drive! I'm getting quite good at it really! The trick is to go really fast and then you don't have time to get skerred or worry about if you are on the road or not! :-D

Would you like a driving lesson today? That could be lots of fun, just wear your helmet and put on your seatbelt, cause it's going to be a bumpy ride..... :lol: :lol: :lol:

Oh and the bean is at it again with her tea and croissants.....she says they are so yummy they deserve their own tea break time.....beans....now if only she will make my breakfast and not keep me waiting.

Thanks you for the rest - we do try.. sometimes it is hard to know which way to go with what. I rely on those vets, and my own reading when I can, to learn about the ailment(s) he has... Not very common....

Hi Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) I know... silly cat! I had such hopes for this cycle. Oh well, it is as you said - I can go to Seattle and not worry too much about him. Looks like he wanted to give me one of his famous permission slips. :-D -- And me too on the IM vet(s). I did ask the IM vet we saw about the influence of the spironolactone on the organs, their reaction,and glucose production/release. he didn't seem to feel that it was the case - that it affected things. I dunno.... I do know that his numbers started to be significantly higher when we added the spironolactone. The IM vet kept using the word "May".. I know low potassium can impair glucose metabolism. just not too sure how the spironolactone fits in the equation, as it addresses the adrenals and their malfunction and helps retain potassium. so... I need to read more, and ask more questions..... sounds like alot of catch-22 stuff going on there.

Hi Carla - Thanks, I do too. He usually does that at the vetty - somebody gets nailed... he just gets to a point where enough is enough, and if they don't send him packing he gets somebody... :roll: Yes, he was very much ready to go home. :lol: and THX - I had a good time today. :cool:

You do such a fabulous job taking care of Mannie! It sounds like there was some good news from yesterday's visit, so YAY! I didn't realize Mannie had cataracts. :sad: Is there something they can do if/when they start being a problem?

Hi Libby - many thanks! I didn't know he has the either - the cataracts until about a month ago, when the IM vet found them. From all that I have read there is nothing they can do for them, which is a bummer. Guess w will cross that bridge when we get to it. all in all he had a good visit yesterday.

Hershey! it was so cool! I waited until just the bestest moment, and then let loose. Poor vetty... Guess that is why they wear those white coat thingies... It was choice, really choice! ~~ Mannie
