Bouncy day yesterday for Mannie: pinks and reds and one lonely yellow.... I hope for better things today, though the 404 this AM was a disappointment. hmmmmmmmmm, 20% inflation for this stupid meter means that this 404 would probably be a 320, still not too pretty, but more bearable. :roll: Today's mission: buy a new meter. :-D :-D

Zombie-ville here this AM @-) and :lol: :lol: . But we are moving the shoot times to be ready for DST. That 4AM shoot this morning was a bit trying :roll: but Mannie was patient as his bean tried to focus, measure the dose (thanks goodness it wasn't one of those micro-doses), test the boy, dish up breffis. He was his usual furry purry self, and more than excited that breffis came early, from his point of view. dancing_cat we had lots of vocalizations, prances. Napping is now in progress - per the norm on top of the nanner pile. Sometime during the night they has been scattered - :shock: :o I suspect that Mannie had some play time last night, as he didn't reclaim them with his usual routine to remove civvie scent, just moved them back, the kitty scent has to be his. Could it be that the boy remembered how to play? :cool:

Hi Michelle, Yep, the DST preparation is a bummer. I gave a fur shot this morning! That's a neat story about Mannie playing with his nanners and therefore not needing to get the civvie smell off of them! Have a good Saturday and good luck with the new meter. Are you going to get the ReliOn? I have both the Micro and the Confirm. Both use the same strips and both require only a tiny drop of blood. I've tested both on myself, one right after the other, two times, and the readings were pretty close.

and for anyone following the meter saga.... Back to the Maxima: bought this AM thru ADW (good basic meter and affordable), also ordered the FreeStyle Lite thru ADW for a test trial by this bean. So... back up meters: Infinity, one Touch Ultra, Freestlye Lite. that ought to do it, don't you think?

Hi Ella - I went back to the meter I have used before. It is still available despite what US Diagnostics says about discontinuing it, and they are still selling the strips. It a very simple meter, but works well. So... it will be good to have it back, get more in line numbers. hated that 404 this AM when I knew it could have been a 320, in theory... Also got the freestyle lite to try, and for back up. Thought about the ReliOn, but just can't deal with Walmart... they drive me nuts. -- and YES!! on DST! man that was tough this AM, tomorrow will be worse as the old bod will be saying 3:30 when the clock say 4:30 ohmygod_smile

Don't forget, you can get a free freestyle lite plus 10 test strips here: Free Freestyle Lite! Glad to hear you were able to get the Maxima strips still! That one isn't in our collection... 2 Advocates, Relion, Alphatrak, TrueTest2go, Freestyle Lite.... :-D :-D We are meter hoarders! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Glad to see Mannie coming down... hope he keeps it slow!! 4am?!? And here I was grousing about 5:15!! :shock: :shock: I will be very glad when everything is caught up!

Hey Michelle, good for you getting the Maxima meter - what is ADW? It will be interesting to see Mannie's new numbers with this meter. I have one strip left on the ATrak, so this should be interesting with the Relion Micro meter as my back-up. A lot seem to like the Freestyle Lite. Glad to see Mannie coming down, and hope you see some nice numbers today.

Hey Mannie, what's up today with any plan to do something fun. Maggie's ready and waiting to be picked up.

Hi Christie - thanks! I saw that too. Think I may do that too... why not - I love free! And one can never have too many meters, right? :lol: :lol: I think we all tend to be meter hoarders... i know I am... and so agreed on the DST thing. that was tough this AM. Mannie's normal shoot time is 4:30 am - a hold over from when I was working, and being a morning person, i've just kept it.

Hi Ann - ADW is American Diabetes Wholesale. They have good prices. Someone sent me the link - I can't remember who - and I thought I'd give them a try. They say they ship pronto, guess we will find out. I also got the free style lite to try it out, as yes - alot seem to really like it. If I can find a place to get a decent price on the strips it would be nice to have as a back up.

Funny about the nanners being scattered and then retrieval. I should get Maverick's out of the freezer and see if he'll give it a second look. I wish he took to it like Mannie. I just love reading the Nanner Chronicles.

Hi Karrie - in theory after 3-4 bad cycles we should get 2, maybe 3 really good ones. If I can just survive these awful ones. One of these days I HOPE he will stop with thinking Kaleidoscope is cool.... :lol: :lol: I know on the nanners - it truly is his thing.

Celi - that is too funny! Love the photo... that would be me... good thing is though that I only use one, just have a a-zillion others. Hi Christie - Mannie's not talking, though I did hear the soup pots rattling, ladles being gathered, frozen chicken thumping on the floor: he does struggle so with that freezer door. I suspect that they are making a few KTSS rounds. He also mumbled something about not waiting up, as he grab the skewers for the smores. :shock: Must be another outdoor cookout. I want their social life....

176 @ +6. SWEET! We made blue. I am toast, and off to NI NI Land. I left a little food out for Mannie, hope the civvies don't, get it, in case he decides to go lower and needs the fuds.

HI Marjorie - looks like those niptecates are working! sweet..... :-D

HI Barb - the kitties are grateful - they love to come and see your girl. It's nice to see him blue - I hope I wake up to the same. :-D
