Lucy is doing good.
She ate better this morning. :-D
She suddenly decided that she now likes to eat Wellness Turkey 3oz cans, which she hadn't liked for months.
I have to get more of 3oz Turkey today after work.

I had a bad day at work yesterday and it's still pulling me down.
There is this woman who works at our supplier and was probably in a bad mood, and she said something really rude/mean thing to me yesterday.
I know I shouldn't let such a small thing affect my day, but rude/mean people always affect me and it takes a while for me recover.
Hopefully, something good happens today to offset the bad from yesterday.

Sending vines to all in need!!

HI guys .. pretty number this morning lucy! And glad to hear she is eating better for you .. I'm sorry someone was rude to you .. Just because he/she is having a bad day doesn't mean they have the right to take it out on anyone else .. Hope today is better!

Re: 3/12 Lucy AMPS=151

Very nice Lucy report! Yep, she's like all the other kitties here....loves to keep her MamaBean guessing.

I know what you mean about rude, mean people. They can ruin your day, even though you know they aren't worth it (it's one of the hazards of being a sensitive person). I hope today is much better for you.

Re: 3/12 Lucy AMPS=151;+2=155;+3=139

I'm glad that Lucy is eating and has decided to like Turkey again! . And a nice even blue day for her too, beautiful :-D

Sorry about the work thing...I hear you on things like that bringing you down. Sometimes I can't sleep for thinking/worrying about things from work, and I know I should just let it go. I hope your day is going much better today, and that you have a nice night too :YMHUG:

That's great Lucy is feeling good and eating for you. I hope she still likes the Turkey after you buy more of it. I'm sorry about the rude person at work. I hope today was better.

Re: 3/12 Lucy PMPS=131

Thank you, Devon, Amy, Rachel, Carla.
I'm having a better day today. :-D

Lucy ate the 1st dinner pretty well!
And it's 3oz Turkey! Woohoo!

And!!! I got some mats off her!!!
Little from her back leg, little from her chest, little from her bum.
This has made my day. Thank you, Lucy!!!
I discovered that surprisingly she's much more patient when I use a trimmer.
We don't much like de-matting rakes because they either pull too much or just slide over her coat.
I have 5 of them. I keep buying a slightly different model hoping it would work better, but non of them works too good with Lucy's fur although some of them work great with Ginger's coat.
She doesn't like it when I use a round-tip baby scissor, because I have to pull her mats hard away from her skin so I don't cut her skin by mistake.
I was sure she wouldn't tolerate a clipper/trimmer because it makes an intimidating noise.
I bought a trimmer a long time ago, it's much smaller than a clipper, so looks and sounds less intimidating.
But when I turned it on for the first time, she looked at me with the alarmed expression on her face, so I never bothered to actually use it.
Today, I tried it for the first time, and was so surprised how long she let me work on her mats.
Well it's like just 10 minutes or so, but that's HUGE for Lucy. She's literally and emotionally very attached to her mats.
I'm really very pleased about this!!!!

Re: 3/12 Lucy PMPS=131

Yay for getting the mats off! I've been thinking about buying a trimmer but was worried about the sound, maybe I will look at them now that Chyna is harder of hearing :o . She only needs a bum trim though and that area is sensitive for her whether she can hear or not  . I'm so glad Lucy is eating the turkey too, small victories that make us beans so happy :-D

Re: 3/12 Lucy PMPS=131

This is the trimmer I got.
It's very small and cordless. And it's cheap.
I used another trimmer from a different brand (it wasn't for pets, it was men's beard trimmer. ), but I didn't like it.
Maybe the blade is different for animal use and men's beard.

Great news on Lucy eating the 3 oz Turkey cans. :-D It must be a new lot number? Good job on getting rid of knots. 10 minutes would be huge here too. Nice to get rid of those knots before spring shedding season starts. Time for me to do some searching. I've never tried a trimmer on Neko - I'm worried about the sound too.

Nice blue day and evening for Lucy.

I wish I could find the turkey in 3 oz cans. So far I've only seen the 5.5 or 6 oz (I forget which it is). There is a new place called Incredible Pets in Sacramento that supposedly has a lot of different brands, so I'm going to check there the next time I'm in Sac. We don't have anything but Petsmart, Petco and a feed store close to where I live.

Congrats on your success with the mats. I know what a challenge they are. My Siberian, Minka, gets really nasty mats. She's a very agreeable, patient cat, but even she has her breaking point, and after about five minutes of combing and mat removal, she's done. I know what you mean about the rakes. They look like they would be great, but basically useless. My tip is to slide a comb between the knot and the skin. That way you can cut the knot out without worrying about cutting the skin. My DH uses his trimmer on Minka's bum when it's needed. It's not too loud and she doesn't seem to mind it.

Regarding the rude person at work: try to remember that anyone that is that rude has got to be a terribly unhappy person. You should feel sorry for them and remind yourself how lucky you are that you aren't that miserable. Just think of your beautiful Lucy and you'll feel better! :-D
