Off to work I go, but I wanted to check in and make sure all was right with Deb and it is......I wll be glad when my cats understand the time change thing a bit better as its a bit annoying to be "patted awake" half an hour before the alarm - they don't get why I'm not proud of them for making sure I'm up.

Have a great day all....

Oh don't I know it...we have the singing meezer boys trio here and they simply don't understand why mom has suddenly forgotten how to tell time...lol Since they aren't allowed in the bedroom at night because they are night prowlers they have figured out the the heater vent in the kitchen leads to the vent directly above our bed so will scream into that if they think we have forgotten to feed them...lol

Oh that is too funny........

I made the mistake of encouraging the "paw me for attention" because i thought it was a clever trick. It is at 5 pm - not so much at 5 am....

Hi Em. Just wanted to welcome you (even though I see you've been around for a short while already)!!! I'm in the Lantus TRP, but I stop by this forum to "relax"! My sugar-boy is Gobbles, I'm Kat and we live in NE Ohio. Gobbles is a darling 10 year old male, neutered, gray tabby rescued shelter kitty. He was dx'd 11/17/12. His initial dose was 1.0 bid, then all the way up to 2.25 bid, now down to .50 bid. He's had 7 reductions since 2/25/13 and hopefully he's just "not feelin" the diabetic thing anymore and on his way to OTJ; paws crossed.

Hope your sugar-girl is feeling great! You're doing an awesome job and are real lucky to being buds with Debbie & Mel  They're both so sweet :-D

Hi Kat - nice to meet you....seems like you've had quite a ride with Gobbles......but those reductions are awesome and it does sound like he's almost there.

Yep - Mel has been a =great help to me and Deb insists she's mostly a cheering section but I think she doesn't give herself enough credit - Lucian is definitely a tricky furkid to manage and she does an exceptional job.

Jez is so far so good - she's young for a diabetic (just turned 6) and I understand its rarer in females as well. But then, she's always had issues of one sort of another - she's the neediest cat I've ever had....but at the same time probably the most adoring - so it all works out. She was diagnosed the second week of January, but I have a feeling she'd actually been diabetic for a month or so already - I just didn't recognize the signs. I'm hoping she'll eventually be able to come OTJ - it sure would make my life easier - but time will tell and the important part is that she's happy.

Oh that Deb! I agree--she is doing an awesome job with Lucian and is a lot smartest/experienced than she gives herself credit for! (Hey Deb: Here's to you: drinking24 ). Gobbles is what I've always call "high maintenance" and I admit the favorite; maybe he's "milking" this diabetic thing! Sadly it hit me after his dx that the signs were all there; in fact, my daughter came home from college one day and say "Mom, what's wrong with Gobby? Why haven't you taken him to the vet? What's wrong with you?!!!"
