Good morning Lantus Land..... ~O) ~O) ~O) + ~O) ~O)

Yesterday's condo: http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopi ... =9&t=38659

WCR: Attie is doing great this morning! Playing, purring and being his obnoxious self!!! We're working the time change schedule...and you know it is really that often I am up long before our alarm clock...and of course this week/weekend I am wanting to sleep-in....and Attie is trying his hardest to let me. Poor fellow got a cold shot this morning even though I held in my hand while breakfast was made.

Gary is getting used to the schedule and was chattering away as the breffis was prepped. I get the impression after his release the other day...he thinking the foster room ain't so bad the second time around :?

Continued prayers for Japan and now the nuclear reactors they are working on. For those of you who don't know...my "past life" ...I decommissioned and worked outages as the Environmental, Health & Safety Field Manager. These are very old reactors they're working on and at some point if they can't get power to the circulate the cooling water or vent the steam, they will have no choice but to let them meltdown. Chernobyl it should not be, unless they get a pressure explosion, because they can't vent the steam. A meltdown would remain in containment, but the older reactors do not have modern secondary containment. So some level of contamination remains possible.

I have been following along at another site: http://www.nukeworker.com/forum/index.p ... 98.60.html Just checking there this morning...doesn't look too good  White cloud....appears to be steam...

Re: 3/12 Atlas AMPS 214

what a great report on the boys! how is miss mudcat doing? happy her gary has returned?

I didn't realize that was your former job! it is very sad what the Japanese are up against in all off this. as if the devastarion from a massive earthquake and tsumani weren't enough...

hope you have a great day!

Re: 3/12 Atlas AMPS 214

Glad to see that Attie is happy and purry this morning. I am working on the time change also with success.

I took in a foster cat [which I kept :-| ] which I kept in a seperate room for a week. I know it's not that long but her personality prompted me to speed things up. After I opened the door she would just go out to eat and than go back to her room and spend all her time there. Eventually she came out more and more as she got comfortable. Things worked out beautifully. Good luck with Gary.

I think dogs are less complicated than cats.

Your past life, impressive! I pray for Japan too and the nuclear reactors. That is a horrible situation.

BTW Your link to yesterday's condo doesn't work for me.

Have a good day.

Link is fixed!

And don't be impressed...it was a field I had to get out of for my own sanity. Left back in 2004 for a career sabbatical, it took 6 years to fully find myself again.

Re: 3/12 Atlas AMPS 214

The explosion in the video was the outer containment building. The actual reactor core containment remains intact and they are now pumping sea water to cool it off.

This particular nuclear plant will never operate again. The decision to pump it full of sea water is a last resort effort and may indicate a 50% or greater meltdown is occurring.

To the luck of the Japanese this plant was scheduled for decommission later this year.

The Japanese government and engineers should be very proud of their critical incident handling in this situation. One of the worlds largest earthquakes, electrical damage at a decades old nuclear facility, a tsunami flooded backup generation plant, and the whole world watching with MSM trying to provoke hysteria.

Good job Japan, very, very good job.

Re: 3/12 Atlas AMPS 214, +4.5 40!

Good morning guys .. and look at atlas go! I hope he comes up and surfs for you for the rest of the day ..

Prayers are with Japan and all others affected by this ...

Re: 3/12 Atlas AMPS 214, +4.5 40!

Hi Beth, Thanks for sharing your nuclear expertise. You are better than the TV guys! I do hope that the Japanese get the situation under good control.

I guess Attie decided he wanted more attention! One point less and you'd have an auto decrease.
Gary sounds happy!!!

have a good weekend,

Ella & Rusty

40??? Wow - Attie, up you go dude!

Thanks for the info on japan and the reactor, etc. I can understand why you would have to leave that profession, and why it would take so long to find yourself again. an extremely difficult field.

I have hopes for Gary. Maybe, just maybe.... you've won him over. Enough that he knows where safety, comfort, affection is. Good luck with him. :-D

Yeah...we're working on the time change thingy....

I had a hunch he wouldn't like 15 minute or 30 minuter increments....

I may back off to 1.75u until Monday...

Wow Attie...look at you go today!!! Nice recovery but just surf now buddy!

Great info Beth!! I really appreciate you sharing it. It's amazing when you compare a country like Japan and then Haiti; you know the Japanese will pull out of this and recover quickly while Haiti lingers on. Sad there is such a dichotomy. Thank God the nuclear reactor is in Japan and not Haiti.

what a thought provoking condo today...i always like that about visiting you!

Attie...a 40 just to show gary who's alpha male? SWEET!!

Good luck with the dosecrease if that's what you decide to do. Way to go Attie!

I talked to my sister yesterday who lives in Oregon, and asked her about the tsumani and the waves expected there in Oregon, and she said that that was the first she's heard of it  Sounds like me, animal planet is good enough for me, I don't watch or listen to depressing human news stations.
My Ex used to design nuclear power plants. We lived in California where they did all the calculations and wrote all the plans and then they built them in New Jersey far far 3000 miles away. He got out of the field more than 20 years ago.

I'm hoping, fingers crossed, that Gary decides he likes (the insides of) your house. :-D
