WCR: All Ps in place. Morning appy is pretty good. Not as good as yesterday morning, but still pretty nice. She was very vocal about getting her breffis. And by vocal...I mean, she was obnoxious while telling me to hurry up and put her fuds down!!!! I got a few snuggles last night at bedtime, but not this morning. In fact, she was in my bedroom, but sitting in front of her empty bowl...staring at it and then me. I don't think she feels great this morning. She just doesn't look like a chipper kitty. Oh, and she keeps burping. She's been burping a lot lately.

Question: Anyone's kitties like the Weruva fuds? Like Paw Lickin' Chicken? or On the Cat Wok? Steak Frites? I'm thinking about picking up a can of each and trying them with Shasta because she's looking skinny in the back end and I'm afraid she needs more protein and calories and lower phosphorus.

Pixie Update: She's hangin' in there. My sister's been giving fluids daily since Sunday and trying to get Pixie to eat. She will only eat the Friskies Special Diet T&G, but she doesn't eat much. Susan tried scrambling and egg for her last night...high protein, low phos. Yeah, not interested.

She's going to pick up some Gerber's baby fuds and try them tonight. Anything to get her eating more! She asked the fill-in vet about Potassium and she was told that there is K in the sub-q fluids and that should be good enough. I don't know if I'm ok with that seeing how low her levels were on Friday's blood work. Susan said that she's not really walking and not really able to hold herself up in the LB. Muscle weakness/muscle wasting...I know this is a horrible sign. Goodness, I hate this and hate being so far away. Sorry that I keep saying this, but it's killing me to not be able to help more. Thank you, again for all the vines and prayers.

Off to a Department Chair meeting. Oh yippee (<-dripping with sarcasm!) Sending healthy vines to all our sugar kitties and their hoomins! Blessings!

Nice Shasta report!

Trix loved Paw Licken' Chicken (she didn't like the other flavors) - however, if you're looking for calories, Weruva is not the way to go. These foods have about half the calories as most other foods out there! My vetty doesn't even consider them a "complete" diet because they are just so low in calories - and she's seen a lot of animals (including Trix) come in sick from a steady diet of these foods.

Continuing to send prayers for Pixie. Have a great day, Deborah!

Morning Deborah :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Mannie likes the Weruva foods, and I do agree with Amy. I used it for something different for Mannie, would serve it up every few days or so. He really liked the fuds, The Chicken and another, the name I cannot remember at the moment.

Continued vines and prayers for Pixie. I think you are helping tremendously, just with the support you are giving. It is hard to be so far away, but wonderful with what you are able to do. I too would wonder on the potassium levels,and if what is in the fluids is really enough. hard to say... Hang in there Pixie. Hugs to all.

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well. And Shasta, you surf well!

My guys love the Paw Lickin' Chicken. I use it when I need to kick start an appy or as a late night treat. They weren't so keen on the other flavors.

No idea on the burping. At our house that's a dog thing. And considering what he eats on our walks, I'm not taking it too seriously. Hope with Shasta, it's no big deal.

Continued vines for Pixie and your sister.

Of course there were no snuggles this morning, not with an empty food bowl and a grumbling tummy!

I have just started giving Vyktor some Weruva now that it's made it to Australia. He likes it ok but not a favourite - mind you nothing's a favourite for him at the moment. I was planning to go and get more for him today but didn't realise it was low cal so I'm glad this has come up in your condo this morning. I'm trying to put some weight on him so I guess we'll be giving it a miss for now.

I would be investigating the burping. I have no idea what it could mean but I'm always very suspicious of any change in behaviour.

I'm glad your sister is onto trying the different foods now, hopefully the baby food gets Pixie started eating again, sending more vines.
