Feathers.... I can remember Roni (Moonie) saying to watch for feathers when some one, human or furkid, crosses the the Bridge. Ann (Maggie) reminded me the day we lost Barbara. They are a form of communication, indicating that the spirit of the departed is near. Watch for feathers... I had seen one that day, a feather from an old cat toy I hadn't seen in months. It was laying in the middle of my living room floor. I took it as a sign from Barbara, that she had made it, that she was Ok, all was well. I have had a feather almost every day since. What is so odd, unique, amazing is that it is the same type of feather, each time. Exactly the same, different spots, different locations, no matter where I am. Odd in that I had one yesterday, on a remote section of the trail. There it was, on top of a log, that was blocking my path, just sitting there on top of that fallen tree. It was so windy up there, yet it hadn't blown away. They are always down feathers, always white: soft, gentle, yet strong and comforting when they need to be. Just like Barbara. Thank you my dear friend for letting me know all is well, and that you are happy. ~~~~ I have heard a little more from Barbara's friend in FL. Tuffy is doing well. She's taking her shots well, eating well, and likes her new home. Two of the other cats went to live with her son Rich. The other three are currently being fostered by Barbara's friend who has Tuffy. They will remain there until the right home is found. There is a strong possibility that they will remain with Tuffy. How cool is that? I have no further word on Khoko, but assume all is well there too, Barbara planned for them so well. Miss you Barbara!

I hope your day yesterday was a good one. Mine was good. It was a mini road trip day for me, the need for a hike was foremost on my mind. I just needed to find a spot that wasn't under siege by rain. Success! It felt really good to be on the road. The drive was nice, blue skies, with really pretty clouds! A great drive, a great day. Here's what I wrote about the day in my post last night: "Hi everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. We did great. I elected early on to head on out, in search of sunny skies, and maybe some hiking time. :-D We ended up doing fairly well here weather wise. Sunny skies and mid 50's , after a wet rainy and gloomy start. We have a gorgeous sky out there tonight. I ended up going to Whidbey Island. At the time it was the sunny spot, so went to hike Ebey's Landing. I like that place. even in rotten weather it is nice. Had a nice cliff hike, weather was good. I had forgotten though how WINDY it is at Whidbey, especially when one if on the edge of the island, Dang that was blowing. It was a fun time though. Saw alot of eagles too. The surf was pounding too, sure was pretty. On a lark on the way home I stopped at the Deception Pass Bridge, and walked that.It is a suspension type bridge, very high up, and covers the Northwest Passage waters. It really was just too nice out not to stop. I walked up and back, both sides. In the process I found the Goose Rock trails. After all this time... I have never known where they were before. Sheeshhh! What I did was nice, easy peasy, but nice. I will have to go back and do them all some time. it was a nice place. So went the day. I am ever so glad I just took off this morning. Sure beats staying home. :-D "

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   The kitties were good kitties yesterday, even Lola, for the most part...Lola will always be Lola. I had gone hiking yesterday. Silly bean... this DST will be the end of me. I had all the clocks changed etc, but well.... forget to reset the camera date and time, and since that is what I use as my "watch" when on a hike, I was an hour off! The camera display was saying it was 2PM, plenty of time to get home, when actually it was 3PM, and I WAS LATE! I so knew that when I got there they'd be waiting at the top of the stairs... blood oath in paws... waiting. and they were.   "SEE!" they said, "here's that oath, signed in blood. The one you signed for Mannie saying you would ever ever be late, ever. That dinner fuds would be on time, fresh, never smushed up, and ready to go at the appointed hour! Mannie willed it to us, and therefore we can exercise all it's provisions! Suffer the consequences! " Needless to say, when confronted with that oath, and three pacing kitties, I hustled up and ran to the kitchen, dishing up the best fuds ever. I never waited to see what the consequences would be. Within minutes all was well. Full bellies win every time. Normalcy in MusketeerVille!

Have a great day everyone. It is a "social" day for me - Breffis with my son,and then later in the day off to Seattle for coffee with my friend. YAHOO!

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!! cat_pet_icon

How beautiful about the feathers. The signs that our dearly departed send are so true and genuine...

Oh my on the camera clock - I sure hope you have that little issue fixed up now! You would NOT want to make that same mistake twice, not with that crowd you're dealing witn  !!!

Have a great day, Michelle!

Re: 3/11 LOOSE LIPS: feathers.... and trails and sunny skie

Good Morning, Michelle,
Sorry I missed your condo yesterday, but delighted to hear what a great day you had on those windy cliffs and newly discovered trails. Great pics!

The feathers are surely Barbara letting you (us) know that all is well. I know that she is content that she has left her fur and hide family in the best of hands. And I also know that she spends lots of time at the Bridge with all the GAs. What a wonderful woman she was! We are very lucky to have known her.

Enjoy your social day. I hope your weather will improve. We are expecting a major snowstorm beginning tomorrow morning and lasting into Thursday evening.

Better re-set the date on your camera!!!

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O) I think so too on the feathers, ant means that those that have left us use to say "hey...." They are just that: true and genuine. And Yes, the clocks on those cameras are now fixed! I did that as soon as I got in the car, saw the time on the car clock and went OH OH! LOL, silly.... but all fixed now. THX on today - I will be great. :-D

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) No worries on the condos. I too missed a few..... THX on the pics, and the day yesterday. I love the area, Deception Pass is just full of very nice things to see, with easy to do trails, with rewarding views. THX too on the feathers, and on Barbara. I am so sure that she is keeping our GA's company. :-D  and probably helping out in "two Cats Kitchen" - she loved to cook. I agree - we all were lucky to have known her. THX on today too - it should be fun, and I am looking forward to it. oh oh... a major snowstorm for you???? really? and here I though spring was coming... Take care! OH: yes on the camera - fixed it the moment I realized the "OOPS!" ;-)

Re: 3/11 LOOSE LIPS: feathers.... and trails and sunny skie

Oh, that is too funny on the kitties and their late fuds  . I hope that you got out of the way fast once the bowls were full ;-) . I thought I'd changed everything too, for clocks, until I looked at my meter last night. Ooops. But I keep a journal of shots and stuff so we're good :-D . Maybe I should change the camera now...

I'm so sorry that you are missing a dear friend. Young or old, it's never easy  :YMHUG: . I'm glad her fur babies are being well looked after.

Well, despite the fuds mishap, I'm glad you had some nice outside time yesterday. I hope you enjoy your time with your son and your friend today. Have a good one! :-D

Re: 3/11 LOOSE LIPS: feathers.... and trails and sunny skie

Hi Michelle,

How comforting to be seeing feathers from Barbara. I am happy her furbabies are being taken care of. That is the biggest worry, especially once you get to a certain age.
How sweet that a full belly can make all forgiven! If only humans were the same ;-)
Hope you are enjoying your social day :-D

Re: 3/11 LOOSE LIPS: feathers.... and trails and sunny skie

Morning Michelle, wow on all the feathers as signs from Barb and also yesterday on a remote Trail. That is so beautiful. I had chills reading about it. You were so close with Barb, are so close, that she knows how sad and how much you miss her and is letting you know she's okay. That is great you were in touch with Barb's friend and Tuffy is doing well, taking his insulin and eating. It's so nice to hear they're all being well cared for and loved. That would be great if Barb's friend could also keep the other kitties. Boy, that should be a reminder for me to make plans for Katie should something happen.

Elsa, I need doubles today of the coffee. ~O) ~O) Thank you. I am all messed up with this time, too, and find myself getting up too late. My car radio is set on the other time which I rely on for bring on time for appts. I'll also take three pizzas with any kind of toppings the kids want to make. Oh my, this should be interesting.
Your photos are always great, Michelle, no matter the type of weather. Oh wow on getting home one hour late, and so funny with the kitties on top of the stairs reminding you about Mannie's Blood Oath.  I was wondering if Bug has the squinty eyes part down yet. Have a great social fun time today.

Re: 3/11 LOOSE LIPS: feathers.... and trails and sunny skie

Oh no on being late because of the camera. I'm sure the kitties were not amused. I hope they forgave you once they got fed. How neat on the feathers. It's always nice to see a sign like that. I love the pictures. So beautiful. I wish I had places like that to hike. I hope you had a good breffis with your son and coffee with your friend.

Re: 3/11 LOOSE LIPS: feathers.... and trails and sunny skie

Hi everyone! happy Tuesday evening! :-D I hope everyone has had a good day today. We did well here today: 62 reported high, under sunny skies. There were a few clouds early in, but the afternoon has been warm and sunny. Sure hope this continues for the next few days.... at least when I have the boys. Breakfast this morning with Anthony was FUN! YUM! He had this thing called Very Berry French Toast. WOW: french toast covered with all kinds of berries and bananas, and a strawberry type glaze, topped with whip cream. That sure looked good. I should have had that - instead of my usual veggie omelet. and kitties - no, you may not have any of that french toast... We had a great time, and I look forward to when we meet up again in a few weeks. I went on a trail walk after seeing Anthony. as the weather was just too good to pass up, and knew I wouldn't be able later and still make Seattle. Sure was nice out. The skunk cabbage are starting to grow and bloom, a sure sign that spring is coming. Surprisingly Meadowdale Beach, and the woods, was really quiet, not alot of folks down there. YaHOO! Seattle was great, always nice to see Barb. City looked great under all that blue and sunny skies. Worked the yard a little when I got home, cleaning up all the winter crud. Blech, but at least the front looks a little better. Now I am tired... time to wind things up for the day. Have a great evening everyone! I will post the Picassa link to the photos in tomorrow's condo.

Hi Rachel - I thought so too. They sure do know what time dinner is, and if I am late, they let me know. All that prancing and pacing!  Once fed it was like "see you later!"  The camera time thing was funny... all fixed, now I wonder what else I could have missed. Thx too on Barbara, I am so glad to hear that her furkids are doing OK, and cared for. THX on today - great time!

Hi Jane - The feathers were great. The one on the trail though really kinda hit home. Oh yes on the kitties, she knew she had too considering all, and did well in making sure all would be OK. her friend has been great in making sure her wishes are being addressed, and they are. Too fun yes on the full bellies... I agree! Wouldn't it be great if humans were the same? THX - today was great!

Hi Ann - I thought so too on the feathers, especially the one on the trail. gave me chills too, as well as sense of peace. I think so, that she knows, and wants everyone to know it's OK. I hope so on her friend and the other kitties. Paws crossed. It was wonderful to read that she will foster them, no kennels! that was one of Barb's fears; that they'd end up in a shelter, etc. I think the same too with mine.... THX on the pics! it was such a pretty place. I had to laugh when I found the kitties on the stairs - it so reminded me of Mannie - he'd be waiting, prancing and paw stomping! Hmmmmm Bug does have some of the squnity eyes thing, but not to the degree that Mannie did. I hadn't thought of the Squnity eyes in some time - way too funny!
Auntie Ann! No worries! I got you covered. and your neighbors too. OOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Three mystery pizzas! scary..... I tolds them they couldn't use any weird stuff... ~~ Elsa, KBP

Hi Carla - Right you are - they were not amused! But they did forgive me soon enough. THX on the feathers - I thought so too. A good sign, a sign that all is well. TX too on the photos, I love that lace. so so pretty there. Breffis and Seattle weer great - had a good time.
