It's so discouraging! And it makes me super anxious for the next one because of the pressure. I definitely had to do a lot of self talk to calm myself down LOL
He pulled away just as I was pushing the plunger down and I saw it come out and go all over his fur :arghh: I think a teensy tiny bit got in, but most of it was on his fur

This exact same thing happens to us too! Pulls away right at the wrong moment. Agh. And like you said, it's discouraging and then makes the next dose feel so high stakes. I'm so sorry! I know how it feels."

You'll get the next one! It's just a small setback. :bighug:

It really does, haha. I was almost shaking this morning giving him his AM shot, my heart was pounding!

I'm one of those people who doesn't use the Big Light so it's always very dim in my house--from now on I'm doing the PM shots in the bathroom where the brighter lights are so I can hopefully reduce the chances, even if it's just by a little bit. :cat:

The pressure and anxiety is the worst. In the beginning I missed like 3 in a row! Every shot I was questioning myself, that did not help. Deep breaths, you got the next one! :bighug:
Oof, that must've been rough. How did you get through it? I was definitely spiraling last night wondering what the heck would happen if I kept missing. But I got it this morning and I'm feeling my confidence come back a little. I'm so lucky that he almost always sits still for me. I think I might've been too close to his spine or something. I imagine that feels really weird :blackeye:

A lot of crying and anxiety! For me, I had to slow down, I was going too fast cause I was worried he'd move and I'd miss my chance! And the insulin seemed to come right back out sometimes too... he didn't have many places to shoot cause he was so thin. I'm struggling with that a little now too cause he's filled out and he's a little beef cake with really no fat rolls!

I know what you mean! I have trouble finding a good spot on Charlie too. As big as he is, he doesn’t really have a lot of loose fat. I’ve found the area below the scruff (like below his shoulder blades but still on his back) is where I can get the best grip. I hope you find a good spot!
