Still pooping right outside litterbox but I just pick up mat and throw the nuggets into the LB and then Bing comes behind me to cover it up. Nice teamwork Bing!

Alska has been looking so Great lately. Way to go buddy. Autumn and Cassanova are both working on their tans this morning. So maybe he can tempt them down for a swim.

Very nice # for Alska today. And so nice that Bing likes to come along and keep things neat and clean in the LB.

How's EmmyLou doing? Been worrying about her all night while I was up watching Autumn roll in the grass.

Re: 3/11 Alska AMPS = 136

My Emmylou is still in some pain but the vet said that the antibiotic should begin to work very soon. There is still blood in her urine and she is spending a lot of time in the litterbox but at least it is not all over the place like the horror I found yesterday morning. They also said that she was too skinny and I need to give her more food. She lives in bathroom/laundry on the dryer (eats on the washer). She has a lamp and a bed there and it is all behind a shower curtain. She chose it and has free reign of the house but likes to stay there.

I really don't know how I am going to treat her if she has FD. You should have heard the shrieks. The vet said that when they stopped scruffing her, they just put a towel over her head and she was calm while they took the blood. As long as they stayed away from the ears she was fine. They also said there may be thyroid issues or stones and/or crystals. We go back in ten days. I have suspected for a while now that she was diabetic. Drinks a lot of water, pees large, weight loss although her fur got much better on the raw. No more matting and she is still grooming. I just know that she is no Alska when it comes to handling. I always said that if she is ever diagnosed then I would have to put her down or wait for the disease to take her. I could get insulin into her but testing would not be possible.

Luckily I have a great vet. All four DVMs in the practice are supportive of raw feeding, are against dry food and support FD testing and prescribe Lantus. Their approach is very holistic and they even give Saturday afternoon seminars on the subject. I guess I will wait to see what they can suggest for me. We go back in ten days.

Thanks for asking Mel.
