Yesterday's Condo

Shadow is eating again...after the +8 and now his breffis. Will be giving the Clavamox and will keep my fingers crossed.
Hope he can get control of these numbers soon...thanks again for all your help last night. Things had been moving along so nicely and then when he didn't eat, it was so unusual for him. Rearranging things and hopefully it will be ok...

Im sorry no one told you about food with the clavamox. Latte was on clavamox for SIX WEEKS once. ohmygod_smile It was awful. She actually did okay until the last week or two. We cut it a few days early.

Did ya give both raja and shadow a lick of the baby food?

Shadow will sort out his numbers and get back to business when he is feeling better. He is just a little out of sorts at the moment. It will improve.

Latte was wondering what time she could stop by? Is shadow up for decorating today, or would another day be better? She could come by in late afternoon....she wont even know that im not home at my usual time then! She is also free this evening after her shot. let us know! :mrgreen:

Irish Stew...YUM....sounds great Stu!! Come by whenever you can...they are so excited. And Carolyn...Latte can come by in the afternoon when she is ready and maybe stay until late tonight? I have the unopened baby food here just in case anyone is feeling finicky. :roll: I didn't give any to either one of them cause I wanted to hold off for emergencies.
DH and I walked over to Winn Dixie last night and raced around "where is the baby food located?" they are redoing the entire store. Anyway, we must have looked like crazy people.

I gave him the C stuff and followed it with some tuna oil to get that disgusting taste out of his mouth. He seems to be doing ok so far. He is all purry and on the big bed...we just had a little talk. he is so sweet. The decorating and talk of the party will take his mind off everything. Raja is already dancing around. They love the decorating parties just as much as the real party itself!!

Party time again! Let's hope Shadow put's on some party greens before evening. Glad he found his appitite again, maybe he was just saving space for some tunaritas?

Can you tell his teeth are clean? Did his mouth stink before? How about now? Socks has stinky breath sometimes and I've tried to brush and look at his teeth (very dangerous!) everything looks ok, no really nasty spots just some slight yellowing on a few teeth. They both eat good and I brush as good as I can every few weeks. At thier ages I doubt they would have major tooth problems. How can I get rid of the stinky breath?

Can you imagine WHY they would give an animal a medicine that tastes like BANANA??????? It makes as much sense as the methyl B12 for cats with the CHERRY flavor???? Moonie & ciivvie hate banana(kryptonite for them=ugh)
I was going to tell you to give the Clavamox with food, just like a people AB, stomach needs food in it to not get upset!
But you got that info--
Hope sweet Shadow will be great later today--Are you giving any pain meds??
Anyway, hope today is better, and we here are getting out our best greens for the party!

I have trouble seeing inside his mouth on good days...ha haa...he actually PURSES his lips which is the funniest thing in the world. He stretches his neck away from me and purses his lips closed tightly... :lol:
And then at the vet office, he opens wide. :roll:
Go figure.

His breath smelled rank before...always seems to. Now I am not fussing with it cause he might be still a little sore so I don't want to upset him too much. the front fangs looks cleaner...his gums are receding and his fangs are getting longer and longer it seems. Getting "long in the tooth" :lol:

No pain meds...no extractions...so it's just sore gums.
Monique...it's great that you brush their teeth. Good habit to get them used to...I guess we are so past that since they are 13 and are not anxious about learning new tricks. Did I invite Spooky & socks to the St. Patrick's Day party? We are busy decorating now...hoping to get the word out to Lucy and Alex and Big Mac too....everyone is invited. all of you OTJ kitties are already in green so we want to show the other kitties how pretty that looks.... :mrgreen:

Ugh! I hate antibiotics. I mean, I know, they keep us alive and all that trivial stiff. But they are miserable. Hope it gets over with fr you quickly.

Can Basil stop by to help decorate? It's supposed to rain tomorrow and he'll need a diversion.

PS The vet told me ai Have to put gel on Rosie's gums every day. Let's see, 10 fingers... that's good for 10 days.

That's about how I feel! When I fist started tooth brushing I wrapped my index finger quite thick with some medical gauze, made it a little wet and used that to "brush" Socks' teeth. Now I use a baby toothbrush just wet with plain water. Once I get it in the mouth these is not much brushing I can do so I just hold it (bristles down, then up, right side, left side..) and let him chew on it. Sometimes there is a very tiny bit of pink (blood) color on the brush but it doesn't seem to hurt him, just annoyed. Right after he gets a treat, but he is usually quite suspicious and won't come to close to me for a few minutes :-D

I brushed yesterday (was stinky) and I found where the blood came from on the kitchen floor last weekend after the big fight between them. Socks has a little scab on his lower lip where Spooky must have bit or scratched him, or he bit his own lip, it is almost healed.

It's not by accident.. I'm convinced my cats absolutely love making me look stupid in front of the vet staff.. "it's so easy.. you just <insert any task that goes without incident at the vet and at home almost results in me losing my eye/limb/life>"..

I was pleasantly surprised with this number...eating his snack...all is good so far. The two of them were UNDER the big bed in the guest room this afternoon...hiding from the outside world! Sometimes, I wish i could curl up with them in their neat hiding places and do the same! :lol:

Glad to hear they are doing so well--moonie only had pain meds the day of, and one cycle after her dental & had 5 teeth out--She was fine & it seems your kits are too!! They are under the bed talking about the vets & glad , so glad to be home!!

Hoping he is on his down way down now after this number...I grabbed him and tested, then he ate really well, actually cleaned Raja's bowl too. I picked him up for his shot he was very good for that as usual. But then the fool woman ran after him yet again....with the Clavamox. Yuck. He really was so good even when he realized what was happening. I did give him some tuna water after that to get rid of the taste of that stuff. So far, he is ok (now that I gave it to him with food today!!) :roll:
 
I am happy to hear that Shadow is feeling better and eating. So the guest room bed is still down huh? No spoiled kitties here.

Monique.....if you can train Socks and Spooky to use the toilet don't you think it is time they learned to brushed their own teeth? :mrgreen:

I sure wish I could teach my crew to use the toilet...and flush too! I can always dream...

Of course Bee will join in on the festivities. St. Patty's Day is such a good inspiration. I'm promoting anything green these days!!
