hi all,
continued prayers for all the kitties that are not well...and prayers as well for those who have had to deal with the tremendous loss of their beloved kitty....

this bean is tired...beyond tired...Comet didn't settle last night either...Rocket did and ate well....i called the hospital again last night and they seem to think it is the painkiller that agitates him (he gets codeine).....as he gets it before going to bed....but i don't think that's the case cause he seems fine during the day when he gets it...it is to be given for 3 days every 12 hrs....and he sleeps fine during the day...it is the night time that for whatever reason he can't settle...tonight is the last dose...so hopefully he will be ok tomorrow....as per the cone he is wearing he almost ripped it off last night...i think the incision is itchy...

Rocket has been on the balcony so far this morning...enjoying the weather...i have him wrapped up with his blankets...though he doesn't want to eat much...he prefers being outside i guess

Wow..nice numbers for Rocket!! So glad he seems to be perking up.

Have you asked the vet about Sundowner's syndrome with Comet??? It sounds alot like what my friend's dog has. They had to put him on valium at night and it has really made a huge difference.

Hi Claudia,

Glad Rocket is settled and enjoying the balcony. That always makes me smile when I read this.

Sorry Comet is unsettled at night. I bet its itchy and uncomfortable. How is he during the daytime?

Hugs.

Marjorie,
this just started from the day of his surgery....he must have been in pain the first night and he is super sensitive to meds...any meds...he is currently on Amoxicillin and Codeine....the latter is only for 3 days...the amox is for 10 days....which are doing a number on him too...but we won't get into that...

he seems fine during the day....though i can see him trying to find a spot to sleep with the cone he is wearing must be uncomfortable....

i hope once the codeine is stopped he will go back to normal....each time he gets any pill his stomach makes loud noises....

he is sooooooo the OLD Rocket it is starting to freak me out a bit....he was purring...wanting to cuddle...and slept in my arms which he hasn't done that in like FOREVER....soooooo weird....but i will TAKE whatever he gives me and this really made my day even though i'm extremely tired still

spoke with Comet's nurse a short while back and she indicated the abs may be causing his tummy to be upset so to make sure i give food with it (which i do and have done so ALWAYS with him)....but i'm to add boiled rice to his food....so i had to boil some rice and see how that is tonight with him....the abs need to be finished up for the 10 days he was Rx....so no choice in the matter....i'm also adding canned pumpkin to his food to aide a bit on his tummy troubles...

so hopefully tonight it will be a little easier on me...

currently Rocket is out on the hallway and he doesn't care people coming and going....he just looks at them as to say "hey dude i live here too so look the other way cause i'm relaxing here".....he has that attitude that he OWNS the hallway...so like Rocket though....

so that's the latest here....

Your update totally made my night Claudia. I'm grinning from ear to ear about Rocket. How awesome!!!!!

Sending love for your Comet. He'll probably feel yucky. Nike was on clavamox and baytril and its been an absolute nightmare getting her to eat. With heart disease and kidney disease, I'm giving her the worst foods for both conditions it seems. Can't wait - another three weeks of baytril. They've got a great Nurse taking care of them.

I'm so excited to hear that Rocket is doing so well today and is like his old self. Continued thoughts and prayers to Comet and hoping he can settle down for you tonight so you can get some rest.

Hi Claudia, The Rocket Report is really good this evening. Keep up the good work, Rocket! Your mamabean is proud of you. And I hope that soon Comet will be feeling much better. Have a good night with good sleep for the whole family.
Hugs, healing vines, and prayers,

Ella & Rusty

Oh Claudia tonight's Rocket report brought tears to my eyes. It's so great to hear that he's acting more like his old self. When our kitties are sick we live for those moments don't we? I know I do. May you have many more of those moments with your precious boy.

Am keeping you and ROcket and little Comet in my prayers.

Dittoes. It's so nice when our babies act "normal". Sometimes you forget how precious their little quirks are until they stop doing them.

Continued prayers.
