Hi, Michelle, I guess LL kitties are exhausted from yesterday's picnic (& microbrews) .
Hi, Mary, it IS a beautiful day! The sun is shining over the lagoon today

.
Hi, John, yes, despite my gradual 15-min. adjustments to prepare for the time change, you'd think that everyone in this house (furries and beans) was caught off guard! And you lagoon prediction was accurate  .
Hi, Courtney, btb AND lagoon = happy beans and sugarcat  .
Yay! We're here in the Sunday lagoon and it's so beautiful. There is sunshine, birds (well, our chickens) singing (clucking), a cute turtle basking, and kitties taking their midday naps. There's also the scent of bacon cooking (yes, we are getting an extremely late start today

). There's also fresh-squeezed o.j. waiting patiently to be turned into mimosas. mmmmmm
So this morning I copied Marje's idea of cutting holes in a box and having Ripley
work for her testing treat (she's never been much of an active/playful kitty, so why not start now in her golden years?). She had a challenging time figuring it all out: she put her nose into one of the holes and tried pawing at the treat with her paw
outside of the box (she was only about 7" away from the treat   ohmygod_smile ). Finally she got the treat, and went back to her rocking chair for a well-earned nap (that was
exhausting for her! ). A few minutes later I heard a little commotion: our civvie cat Smokey had managed to shove her
whole head into the tiny hole and got it stuck.  When I tried to pull the box off her head, it was SO STUCK that I thought I was going to have to use scissors! Serves her right ~ she's always trying to get Ripley's food, treats, anything (even though Smokey has her own). Entertaining, indeed.
