Yesterday Mannie established a new meaning for the word Kaleidoscope... or the Rainbow Bandit thought maybe he needed more press.... or it was just an ugly nasty bounce for him in the morning.... or the bean really hates the meter that reads 20% higher than anything else and really needs to get a different one... :lol: The PM cycle for Mannie was great - blue pmps with greens mid cycle that I was able to maintain in the 80's with a small amount of MC - it was so welcome after the morning cycle. We are at 326 for amps - i really hope that we will head back down to the blues, or greens, once again. cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. Breffis consumed - happy dance was in progress before I served, accompanied by vocalizations. uhhhhh Mannie?: you need to visit Rusty or Moonie for singing lessons.... Auto feeder is being ignored yet again. :roll: Why bother says the cat when you will get escorted if you just wait. ;-) And the nanners.... bean had to vacuum yesterday, and moved the nanners. :shock: nooooooooooooo says the cat, yes says the bean.... bean 0, Mannie 0, vacuum 6. Ownership was re-establish however with lots of rubs, slobbers, chews, and re-arrangement, promptly followed by an hour nap on top of the pile, buried them all under his body. :lol: :lol: I had to laugh last night: was prepping dinner: beef slicing on the counter. Mannie loves beef, so there he was hanging from the counter edge by both front paws trying to snag a piece. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: I don't know what was sharper: the claws or the knife.

My friends: I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooo bored! and is is raining here. it is not friendly kitty weather, and I so want to see some sunshine. You guys wanna get together? more dune buggys? or bumper cars? or parasailing? or kitty hiking? or hang gliding? road tripping? I am ready for anything! See you guys? ~~ Mannie

Mannie, I'm bored, too. Let's go and DO something. Also, we want to get the KTSS together later so that we can visit Tori tonight and Tray has a cold and needs chicken soup. Other kitties might need KTSS today, too. So we've actually got lots to do and we can go dune buggying, too. I have a "snow dune" in my yard that's 12 feet high. Wanna try climbing it? (but our weather today is rain and sleet, so we might do better on a CA beach). See ya later,

Hey Mannie, it is a rainy morning here today. Bean says we gots a big snowstorm coming in this evening thats gonna stay for 3 DAYS. We're just curled up here in front of the fireplace in the family room. Oh...and that Gary guy is hanging out in the guest room again. Bean gave him lots of special luv'ems last night....I'm a bit concerned about this new affair here. ~~Attie

I just ordered the FreeStyle Lite kit combo (includes a box of 50 strips) from American Diabetes Wholesale ($34.99). This is the meter Libby was so happy about. Their prices are very good. I need a backup meter that's a different brand from the one I use day to day (Relion Micro). ADW also sells a box of 100 strips for $51.99. That's a bit higher than the Relion Micro strips ($40 for 100), but not so high as many on the market.

The freestyle lite strips are nice!!! Actually, if you google around, you can find their website where you can get a free meter and 10 test strips sent to you to test it out! Ella-- you should send for one to have as a backup to the one you just bought! I seriously thought about sticking with it, but we've been doing SO much testing lately (I'm not sure if I've hit 37 in a day, but if not, I'm close behind!!!), it is nice to know that, at most, it is costing me way less than $5/day to test, and most days it is under $2.

I have been using the Free Style Lite too. In fact I am darn crazy about the thing. Ease of use, tiny, tiny amount of blood...and you have 60 sec. to add blood if it isn't enough too! Attie and I love this meter. My relion is on the back-up shelf.

I have heard alot of good things about the FreeStyle Lite - I think I might go with that one, or/and perhaps the ReliOn. Gotta make up my mind. Strip cost is a factor - guess I need to do my homework! :-D

I viewed the +11, +11.5 and the pmps as essentially the same number, therefore went ahead and shot the normal dose. I will get a +.5, +1 to try and get a feel for what Mannie has planned for tonight. I also fed a 13% MC (rather than the normal LC) for his main meal to bump him up a little before onset.

Hi Christie - isn't that great? it has been a while since I have had such a great pmps. I am happy for him.

What a great day for Mannie! Sorry he didn't go back to waiting by the automatic feeder. He just likes an escort, I guess. I gave one of my nanners that I bought to a friend of mine and her cat loves it as much as Mannie, even going as far as sitting on it and protecting it.

Hi Marjorie - looks like it was a good decision. I regret in a way that it took forever for it to be "safe" to let him have it. Nice too that it only took a couple of cycles for it to be effective. :-D
