Leroy seems spacy and definitely not snuggly and his usual self :? All he does is sit and stare off into space. I don't think he even slept last night, just sat and stared. He wasn't on the bed but I think Emma may have kicked him off after a few wrestling matches  I felt the wrestle around and then a thump as someone got off the bed. Not sure if it's an effect of the bupe or not. I got another dose in him this morning. I'm squriting the bupe along the side of his mouth, right? Leroy moves his head so much that the bupe goes all over the inside of the mouth ohmygod_smile I should have known better - Leroy does the same thing when I'm brushing his teeth @-)

Appetite is fine. He only got 2 raw nuggets last night and ate another one this morning. I think he's still loopy from yesterday because he ate Emma's raw chicken instead of his raw beef ohmygod_smile Leroy does not like NV raw chicken so eats only the beef. Emma gave Leroy a stinkeye and ate the raw beef instead.

I'm out for the day so Squishy Merlin will have to keep an eye on Leroy. I forgot to visit Squishy's plaque at the vet hospital yesterday but I think he understood that I was preoccupied with Leroy.

it's probably the bupe making him spacey. i've heard others report that. punkin's on it, but he seems normal. normal for punkin, at least!

i try to squirt it a little at a time up under his lips. he LOVES that, of course! i crouch over him so he's boxed between my knees and my feet are keeping him from backing up, then slide the syringe under a lip and put a little up there. go to the other side and repeat. it's absorbed by the mucous membranes and the vet told me it absorbs pretty quickly. she said you can also squirt it under their tongues. i'm thinking of asking punkin if he'll hold his mouth open while i fish around and get the syringe under his tongue! hahaha

squishy merlin would understand. :YMHUG:

it takes me a few minutes to squirt the bupe into Rocket as well....otherwise it goes all over and he swallows the bupe instead....so the 0.3 ml takes me a few minutes....and yes they do seem funny....walking but since Rocket has been on the bupe long term he usually sleeps it off about 1 hr after i give it to him then he is back to himself....

good luck and eating is a good sign.....

Lol, Julie  I got another dose into Leroy by sliding the syringe between his teeth and cheek and tried to angle the tip down towards the base of the gums. I had to sit over him to keep him from moving too much. He didn't squirm too much this time, maybe because he just had his teeth brushed which may have masked the bupe taste a bit. I'll try under the lips tomorrow.

Leroy isn't so spacy right now. He's on my lap trying to keep my hand from typing  As much as I like a spaced out Leroy, I do miss his craziness  He tried meowing last night and I swear it sounded like Barry White  Leroy croaked out a few more deep meows before he figured out that meowing = pain in throat. His meowing and trilling sound a bit more normal today but I imagine his throat will be sore for a few days.

Leroy got a shot of a steroid yesterday while at the vet's (dexamethasone sodium phosphate 4 mg/ml, looks like was given 0.08 ml). I'm guessing that's why there are a lot of huge FD-like pee clumps in the litter box

Emma is fine. Still not happy with Leroy's return  At least Leroy didn't eat her raw chicken for dinner

I've had Cini on Bupe for the past two weeks for his rear leg pain. He was taking 0.10mls twice a day and, as everyone else said, you have to get it in his cheek pouch or on his gums. Yeah......it was easier getting eye-drops in my kids eyes when they were 2 and 3 years old.

Anyway, I did back off on the dose to 0.05mls once a day because the Bupe would make Cini just lay there and purr real hard and he wouldn't get up!

The best line I liked from the Vet was "Are his 3rd eyelids up? Wait... don't answer that, he doesn't have any eyes. OY!"

Leroy's bupe dose is 0.16 ml. The vet gave me pre-filled syringes. It's been over an hour since Leroy had bupe and so far not much of an effect :-| I hope at least some bupe got absorbed. He just had half a raw nugget and is now under the bed being quiet.
