Yep that's a pretty decent drop - but don't panic :smile: it does just mean you need to be extra vigilant please get a +5 and let us know how she's going.

ETA: It wouldn't hurt to reread the handling low numbers information just in case you need it for later ;-)

Just tested again at almost +4, 162. She ate some low carb FF at +3.
I'll stay up with her and get that +5.

If you wake up to the alarm you can cat nap between tests, I'm getting really good at that :lol: We don't know yet anyway, she might just decide to have a nice blue surf for you and let you get some sleep.

Your ss is looking quite good BTW has she settled down about having her tests?

Don't forget to update your original subject line with her +4 and since it's your day should it say AMPS rather than PMPS or do you turn them around to go with your sleep patterns?

No panic. She is nearly at her normal nadir (around +6 / +7) so she probably won't drop too much further from here (but do keep testing and psoting). Looks like she may dip her toes into the green floor - which remember is a good thing :mrgreen:

Have you given her any more food? You could give a little LC to help her surf but don't give her too much just in case she does head towards the lower greens and you need to prop her up with some HC.

I offered her LC but she didn't want it, ate a couple bites of chicken. I'll try again to get a few bites into her.
I'm actually liking these numbers, if they don't go too much lower! I was really getting worried about the 300's I was seeing too much of.
Should I just keep testing hourly until the numbers start coming up?
Also, next shot, is there anything I can do to get the numbers to come down again without coming down quite so far so fast? Or does this just look so far so fast, to me?

It's okay if she doesn't want to eat. I wouldn't keep offering it to her or she might be sick of you offering food and not be interested later if you do need to get some HC into her. Yes keep testing hourly for now but this is subject to review depending on the results so make sure you keep posting.

It was a quick drop, it happens like that sometimes, unfortunately that means it will probably be followed by a bounce :evil: Some people try to slow their kitties down with food (you fed at +3 when you saw the drop so you did what you could there), people who know how lantus works in their kitties well work out a feeding shedule around the patterns but it's probably a bit early in the dance to be trying to do that for Eleanor.

I'm glad your feeling comfortable with these numbers, we'll work on getting you comfortable with her on the green floor :-D

Good work both of you, if she hasn't eaten and +7 isn't any lower you can probably get 2 or 3 hours in a row! But unless you see she is coming up significantly you will want to get a +10 so you're not in for any surprises at AMPS and have plenty of time to get advice. I will still be here for +7 but I'm likely to be snoozing myself by your +10

+7 was 130. Looks like she's coming up, so maybe I will try to sleep for a couple hours. My nap was unsuccessful. She still hasn't eaten.

yay julie! this is actually really great! these are much better numbers for eleanor - that little bit extra on the dose was a good choice.

hope you can get some sleep now!

Great cycle! Those lower numbers does make one nervous at first, but they are very easy to get used to. :-D

I was supposed to get a +10 but I didn't wake up (3 alarms!). Her +11 was 299. She ate some LC at +9.
I shoot same amount, 1.25u, again, right?
 
Oh Julie, I know you are exhausted by now. Its not easy on us chronically ill beans, but I'm here all day, so pm me if you need or call.

You know I am not experienced enough to give advice, but if you just can't stay awake any longer, I give a little HC, like a teaspoon and see if it could give you another hour or two of sleep. As long as the numbers are going in the right direction, up a bit. I also leave Daphne LC out, about 1/8 th can of 5.5oz. when I can't stay awake.

These really are great numbers though, and you are doing so well. Just keep her dose consistent and manage her food according to your health at the moment.

Probably more advice then I should have given, so I hope someone else comes on to check this.
 
Barb: The suggestions were just fine.

I think it's just to be a matter of your (Julie) getting comfortable with blue and green numbers. Most of us find them to be pretty addictive!!
