Yesterday

Not much going on here....Trix landed in the upper blues last evening, and has been surfing there since. Hopefully she'll work her way down during the day today.

Today is a big day for celebrating...my triplets turn 10 years old! I can't believe how quickly time flies. Here is their picture from adoption day...Noah is the black furball, Petey is the tabby, and you should be able to recognize Zen - all stretched out and hogging the bed :lol: !

Yes, tonight will be a big celebration....fresh Yeowww nip sockies for everyone, and cheap Trader Joe's wine for the beans!

We had just lost our oldest kitty, Mr Kitty, to lymphoma on Christmas Day, 2002. Mario, who was 8 at the time, was getting lonely, so we decided we would adopt 2 kittens for him, but we wanted 2 so they would keep eachother company and give him some peace. We could not bring ourselves to choose amongst the litter (there were actually 5 in the litter), so we had their foster mom send us pictures of just the 4 boys, and we literally let the computer randomly pick the 2 kittens we would take. The computer picked Petey and Noah, so we e-mailed the foster mom and let her know. BUT...DH felt a strong connection to Zen, and we just couldn't fight it, so the next day we e-mailed her and said we wanted him, too. Fortunately, he was still available. They actually came home in early May, so that picture was take several weeks before we had them.

Here's an interesting little aside: The foster mom had originally named them after characters from "Buffy: The Vampire Slayer". Noah was "Angel", Petey was "Xander," and Zen was "Spike". When Trixie came along a couple years later, she was abandoned by our idiot next door neighbors...and they had orginally named her "Buffy". How amazing is that? Talk about a group of kitties that belong together!

That is such a cute picture. It sounds like not only were they meant to be together, but they were all meant to be with you too.

I hope Trixie gave you a nice blue/green surf today.

Busy day over here...thanks for all the birthday visits for the triplets! They got a new scratching pad, which they adore. I was running too late to make the 'Nip Sockies today, so I think we'll continue the celebration throughout the weekend and I'll get those done as soon as I have a few spare moments.

Trix decided to come down to a very lovely low blue surf tonight...good girl, Trix!

@Liz - believe me, not taking all 5 was a challenge. I still think about the other two - "Wesley" and "Willow" to this day! I hope they are happy and healthy!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes!!! We had a very nice, relaxing evening together last night. They're such sweet kitties...
