3/1 Sweetie AMPS 300, +2.3 244, +4.5 238; increased to 1.25u

I took the bold step of increasing Sweetie to 1.25u this morning, and I was able to stay around long enough to test at +2.3 and +4.5 and so far I don't see any bouncing. He did eat a bunch extra at +3 because Flynn didn't eat a good 1/4 to 1/3 of his breakfast (normally a full 1/2 of 5.5oz can Friskies pate). Will try to get back home at +10 for another test before PMPS.

I got the 26gauge lancets and started using the pen again today since last night Sweetie was getting in touch with his inner wildcat and I had to burrito him for the last test which failed to get a reading anyway. He is calm again today fortunately. It also helps when his treat is the Fancy Feast appetizer (but so expensive!), because I just peel back the top a little bit and while he's working at licking the juice and chicken inside, he doesn't notice the testing.

That's a nice easy drop for Sweetie! If you find that he struggles with the 26 gauge lancets, you may want to try the finest ones out there... 31 gauge. That's what I use for Blackie, and more often than not she doesn't notice them too much (she only notices them more when it's very close to feeding time :lol. Good luck with the new dose! I used the fancy feast appertizers as treats before moving to the Purebites freeze dried chicken.

Walmart sometimes has them on offer but the best price I've found is at pet club stores - the closest to you is in Santa Rosa, I think.
They usually have them for $1.
I also buy pretty much all my other cat food there - Fancy Feast is always on offer, as are a lot of the premium brands.
