I think I'm about to start dancing_cat dancing_cat !!! I'm just so damn happy that we finally found an insulin that works well for her. I knew she had to be fairly low this morning since she woke me up all bright eyed and bushy tailed with her catnip mouse in her mouth wanting me to play with her. cat_pet_icon

Well time to get her and Maxwell packed up for their visit to the vetty bean, just got the stepdaughter back to her mom's house after having 4 teeth pulled today, she had two on the top and 2 on the bottom pulled all on the left side...now to take the kitties in to have their teeth looked at.

It must be a day for dental issues...lol

It's so good to hear the insulin switch has had such a positive effect on both cat AND numbers.
Levemir is a very good insulin that I believe more vets will be suggesting to owners with diabetics.

Hope the dental visit goes well too.

Dental visit went GREAT! the only bad thing is they can't get them in for the actual dental until June 11th, since they want one vet doing the procedure and one vet on vital signs since they are both diabetics. And with Musette they want her to be a little more stable on her BGs since her teeth aren't as bad as I thought they might be. Maxwell actually as the worse looking mouth of the two but both only need a good cleaning nobody is going to lose any teeth.

I just felt so bad for little Musette while we were there, she had a death grip on my arm with her front paws and kept burying her head in my chest. I think she was terrified that she was going to be abandon again, because she kept giving me these big pleading eyes and hanging on to me for dear life, she didn't even want to go back in her carrier to the point I almost thought I was going to have to carry her out of there. But finally I got her unhooked from me and back in the carrier. Then she shook all the way home, until we got to the house and put her back in her room to relax and chill out again.

Loving the blue AMPS today!!! Awesome thing to wake up to :) I wonder if the higher numbers this afternoon and PMPS were because of the vet stress? Poor girl, she must have been so scared that she was gonna be abandoned again. I'm sure she's so happy to be home with you and everyone else again. Hopefully the numbers go back down tomorrow after she's calm and relaxed again.

Hope you guys have a great evening.

Yeah I'm pretty sure those aweful numbers this afternoon and her pmps were left over vet stress she was so terrified there, I'm sure she thought she was going to be abandon again. She clung to me so tightly and gave me those big "Puss in Boots" eyes the whole time. It just about broke my heart, plus I'm sure having them dig around in her ears to clean out the mites and put the drops in didn't help either. Dr. Adrian even said that the drops sting a little bit and have a mild steroid in them to help with the imflammation so that also could have driven her numbers up tonight as well.

I think by tomorrow once she realizes that she is home again to stay and can relax a bit they will go back down again, since she has been doing so well on the Levemir I can't see her staying up for very long. It didn't take her daddy very long when he got home this evening to get her purring again for him so she is beginning to relax. I'm actually kind of glad she doesn't have to go back for the dental until June, it will give her a good long time to forget about today and learn that she is in her furever home, that mom and dad are never going to abandon her. She is stuck with us from now on.
