Good afternoon,
I fattened Mookie's dose this am, bringing it back up to 1.5 with hopes it will stop those bounces into black. He appears to be feeling good today: he's been demanding his food on time without delay and playing with Henry, both sure signs of a happy Mookie.

Wishing good health for all our kitties and their beans today.

Randa, good luck with the fattened dose. Much better AMPS today! I think Mookie likes this does. Hope you are doing okay, too.

Mookie is Mr. March on the DCIN calendar - what a handsome guy! :-D :-D It's great to see those blues, too. Good job, Mookie! Nice snow. We got 5" here on Monday night. Small chance today and tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath.

Hi Randa - good luck with the new dose. I hope it will lower things overall for Mookie. So Mookie - you got more juice and all, so what are you doing on that black floor? Best come down right now - OK? No need to bounce so high... Mannie been teaching you some of his old tricks? :shock: I hope Mookie comes down soon for you Randa.

What should I do to help Mookie slow down and coast? He had LC at PS, +2, and +3. Should I give him more?

Whoa, Mookie! Right direction, but a little too quickly. I think I would up his carbs at his next meal. Maybe mix a little gravy into some LC?

Hi Randa

There are a couple ways to do it...one is to increase his carbs but give the same number of calories. If you give him 4% normally, then try 7%. You'll have to experiment. I probably would have given it for + 2 and also +3. It's trial and error for the %carbs and the exact time you feed it.

The other thing would be to give him more food at +2 and +3 but unless he is super carb sensitive, that might not work as well. And you don't want him gaining weight :-D if he doesn't need to.

Those are just two methods for when he's up high like this. There is a good example on Checkers condo today....Jill gave her some ideas, too.

Thanks, Melissa and Marje. I did look at Barb's condo. I agree that I need to do "tighter regulation" of the post-shot testing and feeding, at least for a while until I know how he reacts to LC and/or MC up to his nadir.

I wouldn't give him gravy yet...he's still too high...you just want to slow him down but not put on the brakes :-D See my previous post....especially regarding Checker's condo. :-D :-D

I gave him a tsp of LC. I'll go back and look at your earlier posts on feeding to help regulate the numbers. Mookie eats 4% or 5% Wellness Chicken or Turkey, Merrick, and sometimes FF chicken.

I looked at Barb's condo and Checkers' SS -- it looks similar to Mookie's with the big bounces.
