Jersey now officially hates me (for the moment).

Yesterday's condo: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=114587

Recap of last night:
PMPS-188 at 12; 287 at 12.5, .10 units
+2-318
+4-274

I tried to get some later tests (starting at around +6). I ended up with no blood from the hateful little kitty but enough blood from myself for numerous bg checks. I finally gave up.

This morning, Jersey's been out cattin' around, chasing squirrels. She really needs the mud washed off of her neck, but I'll save that chore for the husband. Did I mention she hates me right now?

AMPS-161, .10 units
+2-424

Hope you all have wonderful, low-glucose, day!
Shelly

Awww Jersey...don't hate mamabean  She's just trying to keep you healthy!

Shelly I have a feeling one of those numbers isn't right, it's a really big spike. I'm guessing it's the +2 and makes sense if she's been a little difficult to collect from. Hopefully she lets you get another crack at a test this morning

Good luck sister and yes, mud cleaning from Jersey sounds like a DH job to me too :-D

Re: 3/1 Jersey AMPS-161, +2-424

Thanks, Kim. I didn't think it seemed right, either. When we first started, it seemed like she wanted to drop at +2. With recent cycles (e.g., last night), she wants to hover or goes up at +2.

I'll be home today, so I'm hoping we'll get some more good data.

Definitely a husband job ~ Jersey tends to pee on herself (and us) when she gets a bath! ;-)

Edit - I forgot to mention we are getting a second meter today. The ice storm is coming, and I want to make sure we have oodles of supplies just in case. I'll be interested to compare if/when we get wonky numbers.

Re: 3/1 Jersey AMPS-161, +2-424, +4-329

Then it is confirmed....she is a CAT
So looking at the +2 to the +4, the insulin is doing its job ( you are probably seeing a bounce). She may have gotten lower last night than you expect and now she's bouncing from that (plus you had the greenie a few cycles ago).
Just keep doing what you're doing. She definitely knows how to work the juice, just needs Mrs. Liver to get on board and not freak out ;-)

Well that was a yucky day!

AMPS-161, .10 units
+2 - 424
+4 - 329
+6 - 436
PMPS - 376, .10 units (We used a new magnifying class for tonight's dose. Hopefully, we're still consistent with previous doses.)

Thanks, Kim, for reminding me to keep doing what I'm doing - in other words....to just be patient. Patience is definitely not one of my virtues! I noticed in your signature that you used calipers. Is there a certain type/brand that you might recommend? This micro-dosing is kickin' my caboose.

Here's a link to an article Marje wrote on Calipers
I ended up buying some online because my original ones were not digital. Get the digital ones for sure! And don't spend a fortune. I think mine were $15 and work wonderfully. Yes microdosing is pain and even for full dosing, these really helped me keep the dose consistent. I noticed in an experiment that each syringe could measure up to 0.5U differently!! Yikes! I noticed a difference in Twice's insulin reaction immediately :-D
I also don't need glasses (so far) but I got some reading glasses and they magnified everything a little. Big help. Then there is the lighted magnifying makeup mirror. Another hit with some CG's. I did all of the above as I am a paranoid, obsessive compulsive with ADHD

Thanks for the info, Kim. I have a makeup mirror in my Amazon shopping cart, along with some optical visors. I'm just trying to ration money as best I can right now. The calipers might be the best bang for the buck at the moment. I did try reading glasses once; they were awful. All I could see was a blur where the syringe should have been. :-D

I'm actually a psychology instructor, so I perfectly understand paranoid, obsessive-compulsive with ADHD!

Hey Julie ~

Thanks for saying hi. If you think Kim and I are entertaining now, just wait until I've been here a while. I've been trying to hold back because I'm a newbie and didn't want to face immediate rejection! :-D

Have a great night!
