HAPPY CATURDAY!!
Just a quick note to let y'all know we haven't dropped off the face of the earth! MUCH has been happening in our lives since our last condo 1/21. My eye does not seem to be getting better, so VERY limited computer use and mostly thankful when I can even open my eyes. As of yesterday's appt, I have several drops/ointments that I apply multiple times around the clock and that eye is back to almost 20/400 when the pain subsides enough to try to use it. Lots of fun for Doug, too, because I can't get the ointment in without his assistance. I am thankful for the absence of pain at the moment and am doing as much as I can as fast I can. I'm scheduled for a cornea specialist 3/5 and that day can't get here fast enough! Praying she has some ideas -
My mom went back in the hospital toward the end of January. Two or three weeks later she was moved to hospice and died 2/27. She requested no service of any kind. The strangest death I've ever been associated with and extra hard on my girls who are out of town. The family also isn't gathering anywhere, so not really the closure I think we all needed. But, as the youngest (even though we're all adults), what I say/think doesn't carry much weight.
With all that's been going on, we haven't been able to get Hershey in for repeat labs. But, trying not to think of that today -
I wanted y'all to join me in celebrating HERSHEY's 12th BIRTHDAY!!!! I knew he wouldn't pose for a picture, but this was pretty close
Hershey's BG has been at least as confusing as usual. .5u will be perfect...for a while, then SURPRISE! Right now, we're back to .6u with Hershey deciding to stay up and party last night. I think he thought he'd get a jump on his birthday. Doug was not amused and cut the party short with some karo.
I have no idea that I'll be able to get back on the computer today. This is the longest I've been on in weeks and hope I don't pay for it later. Tomorrow afternoon is Ginnie's baby shower (Beth Ann is due in about 6 weeks!) and I hope to not only be able to go with eyes open, but be able to take pictures! That means resting it as much as possible today. Thankfully, I have Doug to drive me; he's going to suffer and hang out with Sammy while we're at the shower. ;-) I'm attaching one of my favorite newer pictures of Sammy. He's taken his hamper out of his wardrobe to make a reading nook.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope y'all are having a wonderful day. I think of you often and look forward to being able to visit!
