You can shave a little patch where you shoot. Several members with long haired cats do that. Also...are you using the 31g syringes? I started with 30g and Gracie would give a little "meep" so I switched to 31 and she's fine.

I am using 31 but thanks for the thought. I think it's my technique that bothers him. I kinda pinch the skin up and then try to get a visual on the skin so it takes a bit longer than he likes! After discovering the bad way that you can shoot in one side and out the other I try not to rush. I guess I need to restrain him more so he can't jerk away. It does good to put these thoughts into words so I think them through and then have the plan in place come shot time.
Gadget is a growler haha!! No little meep for him! But he is the best: he goes right to the bed when he sees the insulin paraphernalia box come out so I don't have to distract him with food. And he doesn't even really expect treat any more although is thrilled if I remember!
