DC's numbers are still really high.
He had his 2nd dose of antibiotics with his AM shot.
The liquipoo isn't as often as yesterday thankfully.
He hates the antibiotic though. I think because it's liquid form.
I fed him some boiled chicken breast after his AM shot, which he ate no problem.
Does anyone know if the antibiotics will have an effect on his BG's?
All P's are in place and no ketones.

Re: 3/1 DC AMPS=310 Question

If the AB is sweetened with something it will, surely your vet didn't give you something full of sugar though? I would ring the vet, or the AB manufacturer to check but it may be the AB need a little more time to do its work and get his high from being sick numbers down.

Re: 3/1 DC AMPS=310 Question

A lot of the time, the liquid ABs have some form of sugar syrup in them unless they are compounded individually. I agree with Serryn -- either call the vet or look the AB up on the internet.

Usually, if there is an infection present, once the ABs kick in, BG numbers can drop.

The vet said she was giving the liquid because it wouldn't affect the BG's as much.
I called the office but she was gone for the day, so I won't get any answers until tomorrow.
I called the pharmacy also and they couldn't tell me for sure.

I couldn't find anything about whether the liquid has sugar added but I did find out the antibiotic you are using is better know as Flagyl, it is supposed to be very bitter so probably is sweetened but I have my fingers crossed it is with saccharin

That would be better, but looking at DC's BG's I have my doubts.
At least the liquipoo has finally stopped.
