Normal morning for Checkers, eating, drinking, sleeping. More eating , drinking, sleeping. What a life :-D

Yup, this brings me back to where I was last week....trying to manipulate the drops with food, and failing miserably with it.
The only reason he stopped at 74 was he ate more than usual of FF LC at +2.

314 amps
193 +1.....cooked chicken snack
133 +2......FF LC
74 +3.....tuna treat....counting on the food at +2, to keep a surf going

I think Checkers IS racing.. he's racing Rupert. Once again they are tag teaming it. good grief! hoping more experienced eyes can tell us if this is actually a good sign? dosages might be correct and their bodies just getting used to it???

hi barb! just a couple of comments from my monday morning armchair quarterback position...

314 amps
193 +1.....cooked chicken snack <--------- that's a pretty big drop already. when this happens, try feeding mc to see if it helps with what happens later.
133 +2......FF LC <--------- good job feeding!
74 +3.....tuna treat....counting on the food at +2, to keep a surf going <--------- that's too much of a drop to count on that +2 feeding to slow things down. try feeding lc or mc next time this happens.
80 +4

i know finding something to slow these drops down is frustrating. unfortunately, it takes a lot of experimentation to find what will work for the individual cat. my hat is off to you. you're going above and beyond to find what works with checkers. hang in there because you WILL get it figured out... despite checkers making this so difficult.

i have to go offline for the next several hours, but i'll check back later tonight to see if you have any questions.

Great info from Jill. I hope this helps you get his drops under control so he'll flatten out. He's getting into nice, green numbers but just a little too speedy. Hope you had a great day "

Not feeling well this week and all this stress isn't helping.

Hi Barb, I agree that you will get it all figured out and that Checkers will "get with the program". He does enjoy these escapades, doesn't he! Feel better. Tomorrow you can have another go at those numbers. Tonight, put your feet up and relax!

Ella and Pip, thank you for the encouragement. I wish I could just relax and forget it for a while. I'm obsessed.
I think about this every waking minute.

What I'm wondering is, why every day around +5, he seems to jump I see other cats surfing for hours.
I know I keep talking about changing to Lev, but I just haven't been able to see the vet this week.

I feel that no matter how I feed these drops, I can't get head of it. It backfires on me, like on 2/28.

That was a pretty good day today!! Although A Rainbow day, nice that you had some green & blue :mrgreen:
It's hard to find the right combo with a cat that has highs & lows like this--I am sure you will find
the way to soften Checks curves--It will come to you when you least expect it!

Hang in there Barb - been there... i know on that backfire day - somedays that is just what happens, others it does not. You will get it figured out. I like the addition of the +1 test - by then you would know if he is going to drop, and how fast. For me, it would be MC if a drop is indicated, and if that isn't enough, next time go with an HC. IMHO. Checks is a challenge - try not to let it get to you. I think you're doing great.
