Nova is ok but not great.. She's still pretty moody, tired, etc.. thought she was improving late last week but all weekend she's just been off.. going back to the vet on Wed..

As of today it has been 1 week since her dental surgery... guess I'm a little bit sad about it all.. I had these beautiful (obviously unrealistic) dreams that we'd fix her mouth... and it'd all be downhill from there diabetes wise.. but as things stand, the hill seems to be steeper then before..

Ah well, I love her to bits no matter what.. will keep on truckin.

I think I disagree! Nova's numbers are pretty good. There are times when doses have to go up before they come down. Give your kitty some time. This is a process of patience while waiting for the pancreas to heal.

She's eating.. sometimes it's more challenging then other times.. but she's getting enough food..

I made the mistake of doing her AM/PM BG test, insulin and antibiotics all pretty close together.. supposed to give the antibiotics with food but she kept getting so violently ill.. empty tummy is the only way it stays down.. which taught her that BG tests and needles were awful horrible experiences.. sometimes its almost as bad as when I started.. her trying to get away, crying, hiding. Moved things around, trying to get those ideas out of her head.. but she ran off with a needle sticking out of her neck twice this morning.

I'm pretty sure she has entered me for meanest mommy of the year award.

I hope she feels better later today.. it's one of my civvies birthdays.. the only cat I've ever had that I knew the birthdate of.. he was born to a feral mom in the animal shelter and they couldn't find a home for him because "something was off".. that something is cerebral hypoplasia and an immune system disorder..

Anyways.. He's turning 3 today.. and I'm really proud of how far he has come with all of his challenges.. we're having a big party for him and I would be really sad if Nova didn't want to be involved :(.
