25/5 Djoko - amps 493 - Blood results - CKD?

In last september, CREATINE was 179 and BUN was 12,3.
It has deteiorated in the last months. Does that mean he has kidney disease? If so, do we have to switch food?
 
The SDMA is in normal range but on the higher end. I wouldn’t base anything on one test. The SFPL shows pancreatitis episode. Is he showing symptoms? Max would be fine when I took to the vet , the test would show a flare, and the next day he’d become symptomatic. He’s anemic. Did your vet mention that? A urinalysis would show if he’s concentrating his urine. He could be starting to show CKD.

I did not know about anemia. What are you supposed to do?
Yes he is vomiting every 2 weeks or so and seems in pain. He takes cerenia and pain killer when he has an episode.
She said that I did not bring his first urine so that the result may be compromised.

What should I be looking at in his urine analysis?
 
You might want to start B Complex to prevent anemia from getting worse. However I’d recheck the labs in a month or two to see if it’s a passing thing. It’s not at a bad level but lower than normal. I’d ask your vet about it. With my CKD cats my vet never mentioned it either. Look at the USG in the urinalysis to see the percentage. The first urine is usually the most concentrated but my vet always got the sample when I was there so it never was the first. Appetite good? Max always became inappetent. I used ondansetron but cerenia is used by many. Are you giving it daily?
 
It helps us if you can put the lab results on the Labs page of the spreadsheet. Then we can see trends when compared to previous blood work results. I agree with Elise on the recheck. My vet always waited until a second test to see if the numbers were still out of range. Did the vet say if Djoko was dehydrated? That can increase some of the kidney numbers.

Is B12 ok? I injected him B12 weekly for 6 weeks and then every other week for 6 weeks and then one per month but I decided to give him B12 every other week unless the vet will tell me otherwise. Any thoughts on giving Djoko B12 every other week? Should I give him B complec on top of B12?

I intended to re do the urine test this week. Should I just forget the urine test and wait a month and redo blood test?

She did not comment on this. She keeps saying he is looking great just because he has gained weight. I will ask her.
 
Urine analysis. I entered the corresponding values in the SS but for other I have no idea what they stand for.

You can just add a row on the Labs page for SDMA - somewhere near the Bun and Creatinine rows. Don't forget to change the reference ranges to what you see from your lab. The same ones on the spreadsheet are American. The USG is the urine specific gravity.

B12 injections are cyanacobalamin, just one of the many B12 vitamins. More information on Tanya's web site here. I would ask your vet about the anaemia before adding the B complex.

Is Pet Tinic still considered good for anemia? It's what our cat is taking.

Yes I will ask her. I also sent her an email asking her for the cerenia every other day. Thanks a lot!
