Maxi's vet says she read that increasing cabergoline dose didn't have a marked effect, but since Maxi is on a low dose, she's for increasing his dose. She said to increase by "a cc and a half a day." Do you know what that means? (It was a voice mail or I'd have asked her.) A cc is the same as an ml, right? So if he's on 1ml now, should I increase it to 2.5ml? Does this seem right to you?

Also, tomorrow night is time to increase Lantus. Should I increase by 0.5 to 9.25? Or more?

Thank you.

Cc is same as ml. I don't think I would jump to 2.5 ml yet. I would give the 2 ml which is where he should have been. Give it 2-3 weeks first. Then if needed increase in small amounts. I personally would not want to give anymore than absolutely necessary to keep symptoms away.

Yes....please increase to 9.25u tonight unless you see any blue numbers today. He could be bouncing from the 180 two nights ago but you’ve got room for an increase. You just want to be sure you don’t increase if it looks like the bounce is getting ready to clear. And I’d lay off the R the cycle you increase.

Since @Sandy and Black Kitty and @Wendy&Neko have been helping you with the R scale, I’m going to tag them and see if they think we need to increase it as it doesn’t seem to be doing a lot. You get an occasional response but I’d like to see if we can fine-tune a little more. We have to be careful so we don’t send it the other way and cause bouncing.

Thank you, Marje!

I'd still like additional advice about increasing the cabergoline.

So he just got a blue number, but it's only one away from yellow. Should I still not increase the Lantus tonight?
Thanks

You still have plenty of cycle ahead and see how it goes. If he heads up instead of coming back into blue, I’d give R right away if you can monitor and still increase tonight. The goal of giving R as soon as he heads up is to try and ward off a huge rise so it gives him a better place to start PMPS. Hopefully.

The number went up but not high enough for R (per the scale we're using). (It' 240.) So, I'll go ahead and increase Lantus tonight, right?

I'll test again in 2 hours, which will be +9. If it's high enough for R then, I should give it even though it's just 3 hours before Lantus, right?

Thank you

Edit: At +9 it was 292, and I gave 0.75 R.
